    Ive tried IPv6. But im on the Xbox One X. Not sure what your playing on. I personally like IPv6. The last few months Xbox Live has sent out a few updates that are really pushing IPV6. The only problem is DumaOS doesn't fully support IPV6..   And even the XR500 doesn't give one full control of it either. We would need a good firmware update to get that on board. But give it a try and experiment a bit would be my suggestion. I personally want IPV6..
    By disabling Share Excess you are basically locking your devices on the flower to hard bandwidth limits. Meaning they wont change even if other devices are not using anything. I feel it helps to stabilize my connection better by keeping the bandwidth consistent.. Again experiment with it and see what works best for you..

    I had the same issue as you did @xlr8r. I can tell you right now that it comes down to two issues:
    1) The router is having issues with DHCP when it comes to assigning local IPs to devices in your network, thus causing it to disconnect everything.
    2) The router is having issues with DHCP when it comes to leasing a new IP when your ISP decides to change the IP address to your network from the modem. A lot of ISPs work on dynamic IP addresses, which means that every so often, your IP lease will end and your IP address will either be renewed, or get changed entirely from their end to your modem.
    Once I said, "Screw it!" and got an EdgeRouter from Ubiquiti, I used the Nighthawk as a simple access point, and the internet has been working perfectly fine. This leads me to believe that one of the two things I listed above are the issue with the Netgear Nighthawk router disconnecting all the time. I believe its most likely my second point, simply because when it does disconnect, I reboot the router and then it has problems getting an IP from the modem period. It tells me that the cable is disconnected and to check the modem to see if its working... I have to reboot the router a few times, plug the WAN cable out and back in for the router to get an IP from the modem again.

    Rodney, I would start high with your sliders then work your way down. If you over buffer your connection that also seems to have a negative effect.  Personally I rarely use buffer Bloat Control. Or if I do use it I set my sliders very high. Like 98% up and down..

    I cannot say.  For me MW doesn't like Anti buffer bloat.  So I set it to never and just use QOS to adjust up/down speeds. I do believe you have to have Goodput checked in ABB.

    Using the exact ports seems to work much better for me as well.. Using a range of ports did not give the same effect. And I usually just prioritize UDP ports. But it wouldn't hurt to experiment using both.. This really comes down to experimenting what works for each person. But using the actual port number seems to render better performance.

    @ugotstretched
    That's opening ports so you have open nat.  This is something else.  This is prioritizing packets using traffic prioritization. The reason for this is because Activision doesn't list all the ports their servers use.  We are looking for those ports as it adds to better hit registration and you will be on time with the server.  It won't make you a better player.  For example, if you want to run/gun you have to have a tweaked smg.  If you want to defend, camp, cover a strategic area you need to tweak your assault rifle, etc. Know the spawn points, have great aim, etc.
    @Rodney Rosado
    You use either/or

    I will say that there are plenty of players out there that never had this issue.  Even if you notice improvements don't think you got the jump of people as much at you think.  Some always had this level of hit rego/timing.

    I would expect there to be another firmware release before DumaOS 3.0 but I couldn't say with 100% certainty, I'd be surprised if there wasn't.

    I know you would, Fraser. Things as they stand just seem to be rinse and repeat for you guys with the same problems keep rearing their ugly heads, if the Devs had patched any of this, life would be easier for you guys and the users who are somewhat frustrated depending on their level of technical knowledge and how much they push the router which is when it starts showing the bugs that have not been patched in almost a year now. Milestone 1.3 was just abandonware, I truly hope your devs change direction on patching because if not this will simply happen again and I know a few people who will move on, as you know ive taken mine down due to issues with antibufferbloat, QoS and IPv6 that cannot be fixed at this time, and it's sad when you have such a great OS. DumaOS is like Swiss Gruyère, looks lovely  tastes good on the first bite but is full of holes...

    Wait for 3.0 (I imagine it will be in the new year but who knows, you wont get a fix now, and 3.0 is still in development from what we are told) also bear in mind the R1 will get it before the XR500, as Netgear have to test its compatibility with their firmware and hardware, so nobody even knows if the XR500 will get 3.0 for sure, and if they did they cant say (NDA). There are more secrets here than at the NSA headquarters it seems...

    If its a  Netgear bug yes, from what has been said if its a Netduma's issue, then no. They are working on DumaOS 3.0 which has been prioritised over bug patching in Milestone 1.3. There is no ETA on 3.0 at this time.

    I've tested it extensively. I've also tested Gargoyle and DD-WRT.
    My opinion is (that for us gamers) DD-WRT is the king.

    I would highly recommend people to experiment with Openwrt. There are many good features and imo if one wants to really battle buffer bloat that is where I would start. Its always good to have an open mind about other options. There is no one superior firmware. And what was good one day is already being improved the next.

    Zippy got a reaction from Netduma Fraser in HALO 5 PORTS GAMING
    @el1t3k If you are looking for the ports only for a specific game like Halo5 then the ones ive captured are 30000-30040 UDP  Those are what the game uses only while actually playing the game only.. Nothing else. I should also add that those ports ive listed change with each new game you play. But the range has always been what ive stated above. So example would be lets say I play Ranked Slayer. There would only be one port out of that range of ports ive listed. So example would be my first match I play uses port 30002UDP. The very next game you play will then use a different port like 30011UDP. Each new match you play always seems to use a different port in that range ive listed..
    If you are playing on a console XBOX ONE go to your console settings and Network settings. Then go to the advanced tab. In that tab you will see what port your xbox is using. That port is what XboxLive uses.That may or may not be 3074.. Chances are it isn't anymore. I haven't seen that port used in a very long time.. Im not sure if the R1 has the traffic prioritization light that comes on like the XR500. But if it does and that light comes on right away when you turn your console on then your prioritizing XboxLive and everything the console is doing. What you are wanting to do is prioritize just the game traffic. So in order to do that you have to disable Duma Classified games and manually enter ports for just the game. Nothing else..
    If the ports ive listed above do not work for you then your going to have to get familiar with Wireshark and capture the ports yourself. But chances are the ports ive listed above are going to be the same. Those are the server port numbers the game is actually hosted on so they should be the same. When you get a chance see what port number your xbox is using and post it here. Im curious to see if your still using 3074 or a different port. Good luck!

    Well said!! Ive said it before and I will say it again! lol. Why the hell this feature was ever removed is completely mind blowing! And what is even more mind blowing is the fact we sit here for over a year without it back!  If I was to say it was completely stupid to remove it I will be the front guy to take the heat! lol. I will be more then disappointed if its not back in the new firmware. This is a basic feature that other routers have. What in the world it isn't in here is right down dumb. I know Netduma wants to make this easy to use for all. But we are not talking rocket science here. We are talking a very simple process to get info on games. The removal of this feature has caused nothing but headaches and frustration. And making us jump through hoops and grab wireshark.. That's not cool at all..
    @kinel I sure hope your efforts with your poll doesn't go unheard.. Good job on that!
