Funkybadger got a reaction from Sunaikinti in Can anyone please help ?
Ok everyone got sorted Fraser I thought it was the Duma os classified that was the problem but after further test I found out it has nothing to do with it  I’ve tested this 4 or 5 times and it’s worked the problem is I have to have my geo filter turned off when turning on my Xbox as I’ve said above I tried having it off and on just to see what would happen ping shots to 160ms if I keep it on soo before I turn my Xbox on I turn geo filter off just to my Xbox boots up and once it’s powered up I can then turn on my geo filter and ping stays as low as 25ms

For some weird reason when I turn of anti bufferbloat my ping drops and I play better in game  it’s weird but that sort of defeats the purpose I’d rather have it on and working to improve my connection not to make it worse

any help or tips is appreciated

I use chromes desktop site option on my mobile or tablet.
Click the three dots top right of chrome scroll down and tick the desktop site box.

Great to hear that, welcome back!
It should be the same basically as when you did so on the R1 before. Geo-Filter has a profile so you can select CoD and will apply our recommended settings. On QoS leave DumaOS Classified Games ticked under Traffic Prioritization and would suggest using either 'Always' or 'When High Priority Traffic Detected' depending on what kind of devices you're using when you are/aren't gaming and still the recommended 70%.

I’ve moved this topic to the general support section. Please do not post in the 1 on 1 section unless requested to do so by Netduma staff.

run pingplotter and see if you get those spikes and then run the same test without the r1 and see if you still get them to rule out the R1. if you still get them without the R1 then it is an isp/line issue!

This is the issue everyone has with ISP's in that they always blame everything other than themselves. It's simply cheaper for them to do so.

It is not likely for the Netduma itself to cause ping spikes. Physically, I'm pretty certain it's almost impossible. Spikes usually happen upstream in any connection (as does jitter).

Given that this is the case, following your connection upstream and running tests will ascertain where the issue is happening. It could be the wire between your Modem and the Netduma (or the wire to the device you are testing on), or it could be the modem. Run your own tests and do not take the word of an ISP at face value. (Doing your own tests also ensures you don't take -our- word at face value).

I'd recommend a pingplotter test or two wired directly to your new modem, using different cables.

I switched to Cloudflare DNS just because I was curious about the benefits. Did some benches and I have a lower DNS latency of around 5ms to 10ms and very speedy website response. Good recommendation.

Great video on why he sold his R1 router.   He was huge supporter of the router with countless tutorial videos.

Mhh you a bit selective or do I deceive myself? However, after rereading the announcement from ND it simply seems they had not enough time besides the NG deal to implement the backward compatibility upfront in time even it was clear way before regarding the legal terms. Just my opinion and the last statement I will make on this topic. Well, see how long this delay is... fingers crossed... thumbs pressed until they crack.

ps: yeah, because you edited my comments instead of hiding them.well played.

I also think it’s terrible that Netduma admins aren’t even in here commenting trying to calm the situation just shows where it’s come to
Large increase of R1 routers for sale on eBay lol
Alot of people bought the router just for the new software

I would just like to point out that every single firmware update on the R1 since its inception has had no backwards compatibility.
Once you updated to a newer firmware, you couldn't go back.
People have gone against Netduma's warnings and updated their R1s to a previous firmware but took a huge risk in bricking the device.
But we were told from the beginning of every new firmware that going back to a previous firmware was not an option.

So this 'backwards compatibility' excuse is just that, an excuse.

Just tell us the R1 can't run well with DUMAOS and be done with it.
    Stop with the excuses already.

You could respect the date and in the future update ( weeks ) went live with the downgrade possibility..
At this moment i think its ridicolous..
