Netduma Admin got a reaction from MikeTHIS in Kernel kill flow due to timeout? Affecting speeds.
My guess would be it's either something else on your network using the bandwidth at the same time (check the Network Monitor) or we could be looking at something hardware related.

I had the same issue, I was having to reboot the router every 2-3 days. I then went out and bought a Netgear network switch for $50 and all is perfect. Have not rebooted once in months...

    Just for discussion..
I'd love a Netduma Router that has DSL port built in so i have only 1 Modem/router setup. Instead if having 2 products. Is this a possibility for the future?
    For me the Benefits are
no extra wires/ Ethernet's running all over
the DumaOs does all handles Everything and be plugged straight in the BT Socket skipping my Vigor 130 modem.
    Would be "AWESOME" tho!

Your router IP is now 192.168.88.1
Type that into chrome and press enter.
You might have to clear chrome's cache.

Thanks for the extra info guys. We'll get a cloud update with all the changes you guys have submitted as soon as possible, as I'm hopeful this will root out the issues you're having. We'll post in this thread once it has been done. Hopefully get this out to you next week.

    Hi.

Depending on what server/ip address you are testing they can change while your in the middle of a test (bbc is well known for this as an example). Please next time you run pingplotter take a screenshot when you see it change so that we can better understand what it is you are experiencing and if it is what I said and suspect it is.

Thanks for the idea, I tried it all including some beta firmware options, mine was definitely a hardware issue though.  Thankfully I received my new router today and so far so good.  I’m sure glad the year warranty was brought up cause I figured I was going to be sol and was looking for other routers even though I’d hate to give up the Duma software.  Glad downgrading worked on your end though.  Mine would be fine after I’d try different firmware and other options than sometimes a couple months and others a couple days later  it would start up again eventually getting back to at least daily.  If your issue comes back rma Asap cause I only made it by a bit over a week and it took some, wel say convincing to the first round of customer service, after that they were good about it since they realized I wasn’t a moron and had already tried all the troubleshooting many times over.  I hoped a firmware update would fix it eventually and almost waited too long, always loved the R1 and hope to enjoy this one just as much now that I can spend more time gaming than I spend fighting the router again.
Thanks again to all that helped, I’m actually the op as well, for whatever reason I wasn’t getting password resets for a bit.  Going forward hopefully I only need to come back for positive reasons now that I have new hardware. Safe to say this post has been resolved on my end now at least for now.

I just wanted to tell you all that I bought the XR500. The reason why I decided to buy the XR500 instead of the XR300 was that they reduced the price to the EXACT same price as the XR300 during Easter.

Thanks to everyone who answered my questions and helped me decide what to buy!

Give your gaming devices at least 1mbps, but ideally nearer 5mbps, then allocate everything else as you want. The main QoS tool to stop lag in gaming is Anti-Bufferbloat (Anti-flood). So if you have that setup then you should be fine.

Great advice, try this please. You want your R1 to be plugged into your modem, with everythign connected to your R1, so you can then take advantage of its QoS etc. because it controls everything on your network.

Another thing to add that would help is for guest network to auto delete devices from device manager after use, too many people visit my home to use the wifi and it messes with how i setup my qos.

For all of you that are new to port forwarding and want to use it as a more reliable way of opening ports that are needed for your gaming needs then look no further than the portforward.com guide to help you with a step by step guide.   Please remember to disable upnp as you cannot port forward and use upnp at the same time without port conflicts.

connect the lan cable from lan 1 of your combo into wan of the R1 and everything goes into the r1 from there (including your switch). The ip address of the R1 is 192.168.88.1 but your combo may have issued it it's own ip address, in that case on your pc if it is then connected to the R1 go to command prompt and type ipconfig and hit enter, it should then show you your gateway ip address which will be your R1 as the PC will assume your R1 is the gateway.
