What P2P im getting only dedicated servers playing on Xbox in EU. I have dumaOS set to spectating mode becouse of so many mislocated servers from the beginning of game life cycle. Sure in the description it says peer becouse the ID number is not assigned to a dedi but you can tell that im connecting to dedicated servers. If in the game at the end of release number is a letter E that means you are connected to a dedicated server. At least so it is on Xbox

As it stands Netgear users are very frustrated with their current duma OS due to:
The Geo Filter Currently doesn't work as it should due to cloud server misplacement issues
The Allow and deny servers doesn't work either as it should due to whatever issues etc
QoS kinda works better on the download then the upload (for me anyways)
These core components of DUMA OS are the reason a large majority of the people bought this gaming router in the first place
These problems should be treated with highest of priority by Netduma within a timely manner there is no need to keep passing the blame on to netgear  or avoiding peoples questions regarding these matters
There needs to be more transparency with your consumers acknowledging what the current problems are because everybody I see coming to the forum at this current time is asking the same set of questions
Please dedicate a pinned thread telling people of known issues and workarounds if any
Not doing so is  just adding to the frustration of the consumers as well as yourselves its wasting a lot of peoples time
Also What is so wrong in offering us ping assist in beta at this time  if you unable to offer any respite with the current problems it may help
We may be able to work it out together
Some how there must be a way to solve the current divide that is starting to become more apparent as the days go on
What I'm failing to understand is the R-apps where initially created for a specific reason by Netduma and that is ease of expandability
Most of these DUMA OS features are an R-App and are Independent to Netgears actual router firmware
Quotes from this link -  https://rapps.dumaos.com
"R-Apps are independent features on your router. Just like an app on your smartphone, each R-App solves a problem to give you the best connection possible.
It is so easy to add new R-Apps to your router. This extendibility means you will always have the latest, powerful features to take control of your network.
Yet as Netgear DUMO OS Users we are unable to test the new R_apps in beta ourselves or even experience them or have our issues fixed without having to wait for them to be implemented by Netgear as part of their annual/ seasonal router firmware update whenever that may be
The current issues are unacceptable and even more-so with the new features being released on the R1 that Netgear users may find beneficial right now

Sadly ive gone back to the R7800. I miss DumaOS but streamboost works well  enough and I'm using Voxels firmware so I know the GPL packages that he can change will be much more up to date than either the XR500 and XR700, both which are using old versions of OpenSSL to begin with yet again <sigh>

Tbh I have a great line, without QoS I get pings to London of 7ms from he south coast and 33ms to Germany, I live on my own so things are more under my control, and I have very low latency, in fact I started getting better results on the XR500 with everything turned off towards the end. None of this is the fault of the Neduma guys, but Netgear should realise you cant run a gaming router with quarterly (ish) updates and now the XR500 is at the back of the line behind the R1, a router with a 600Mhz processor that seems to preform better than the Qualcomm/ Annapurna units with their bigger more powerful cores and more powerful wifi. I just need a router that I can game with and stream with and the XR500 was not really good at being a gaming router with the issues it has any more for me, and its way to buggy after being out 9 months as a home router too. I cant even have basic access control, let alone work out what's online and offline as things get stuck in the Network monitor sometimes and when I'm not gaming I would like to be able to use IPv6, no matter what it is 2018 and my ISP natively supports it. IPv6 may not help gaming much but  if DumaOS can't use IPv6 maybe it should recognise non gaming traffic and let IPv6 work when its just being used as a non gaming router. Maybe this could be possible in a future update?

I'm not sure about Netgear though as their IPv6 implementation filters ICMP, which it shouldn't. They wont change their mind and i'm guessing it would mean maybe a major overhaul of their firewall code maybe, who knows but they are certainly not bothered about it as its been going on since way before the R7000 was launched. Asus routers manage to deal with IPv6 this just fine. Netgear are way to slow with updates too, they even left in a bug using the '/' symbol  that effects passwords  that I found and reported on the R7800 which was fixed last year. ( The R7800 has exactly the same internal hardware as the XR500 with 128 MB less flash memory as its not running DumaOS, so it has 512MB ram 128MB flash compared with XR500's 512MB ram 256MB flash)

You can see really see here that a smaller company  that cares about its product can push out updates  very quickly, unlike Netgear, whose firmware in my opinion feels like its just getting worse with each update.  I'll go back to Netduma when they make a more powerful router, I need wireless 802.11ac to stream 4K but I don't want a three box set up (Modem, router and another router as a access point) but for me at least the XR500 is underperforming, and Netduma cant really do anything about it as their hands are tied and now they are up and running with the R1 (good for them) I think Netgear is starting to look like are fading memory in some ways. Netgear have fragmented DumaOS basically as I see it.

Your answer is unacceptable. These people want to use their router to play they bought it for this reason. It’s been a month since bo4 launch and all you have to do is refreshing your cloud even if it’s a bit every day with info these same people gather for you....

I'm happy for the people with the netduma R1 and hope it all works out for you guys without many problems but at the same time as a XR500 user I feel rather let down as someone who bought into the netduma ecosystem thinking i was going to be treated the same as everyone else within the duma army
first we get the release of the XR700 within such a small time frame after the release of the xr500 and now this i feel we are at the back of the que when it comes to getting fixes/updates/enhancements to our Duma os
I know nothing can be done at this point for the XR500 owners I know you guys work really hard and have obligations to Netgear but it just sucks to be not able to be going on this journey together

It's been 2 months since I asked about my issue and on Sept 14, you said you had a fix that is working stable. Yet I didn't expect 2 months later, and I am still not getting the fix. 😂

I thought the purpose of R-Apps is so that individual apps can be updated without waiting for an entire firmware update.

The wait continues... At least one good thing out of the wait is once the fix is out, all my woes are over. 😁

It’s been brilliant testing this version, ping assist is back! Seeing the tick rate of the server I’m connected to is a fantastic new feature, especially with all the controversy at the moment surrounding the BO4 server tick rate downgrade.

I have been lucky enough to test this FW and the ping assist is working really well in Blops4 putting the geo in the ocean and setting the assist to 40ms giving me low ping UK servers. Seeing the tick rate / send and receive is a great new feature, learning that Blops4 had moved to 30HZ the other night before it was announced was awesome
Using ping assist for me is the way forward with the way the servers are at the moment on Blops4 forcing you to play with people of your skill no matter where in the world.

im expecting HUGE changes with the next release!..... I (WE ALL) have waited long enough I think...?

if it is only bug-fixes again, its going back to Amazon.

I paid for the XR500 believing (as per manual) that IPVANISH vpn would be available...(along with lots of other R1 functionality),  only to hear that they will NOT be supporting IPVANISH?? and it will be removed from future manuals... seriously Netgear ??

Im thinking i should really have just gotten the R1 instead..... Netgear, you are too slow!

Don't be sad guys. I own a RX500 and i had much better gameplays using my old R1. At least on COD titles. Something is not working as it should be with the DUMAOS. I own the RX500 now for about 3 weeks and i can't figure out good settings. On R1 that wasn't the problem

It's not that DSL reports isn't good any more - we haven't flipped on that. It's DumaOS itself that is making DSL reports give false readings, not the other way around. Due to the way the DumaOS DPI works (in only scanning the first few packets of data) it no longer agrees with the DSL reports tests. We were originally concerned that it was accurate and DumaOS was underperforming, so we conducted a ton of internal tests ourselves and our developers found that it's just a false reading.

So that's why we now recommend PingPlotter for results that don't conflict with our DPI. I hope this makes sense! (DSL reports is still great to use for testing with other routers, and we hope to find a way to get accurate DSL tests using DumaOS in the future!)

It's better that they match up so you can try that and if you get any issues switch it back as packets may be fragmenting.

I too am getting really bad gameplay with the XR500.

My original set up was BT smart hub 6 > R1 Xbox One, and had no issues, was getting a decent kd

Bought the XR500 after a lot of rave reviews and my set up then changed to BT smart hub 6 > XR500 > Xbox One but then things got worse, played around with the anti bufferbloat settings and then my kd started to drop massively, it was also like I was lagging at times.

Got a Draytrek Vigor 130 to see if I'd get any improvement, so my set up was Draytek > TP Link (with bandwidth control of 6 meg down, 3 meg up for other devices) > XR500 > Xbox One, but got the same issue even after playing around with the anti bufferbloat settings.

So swapped out the XR500, connected the R1, so my setup now is now Draytek > TP Link (still with bandwidth control at 6 meg down, 3 meg up for other devices) > R1 > Xbox One, and my kd and connection has improved dramatically.

My average ping both on the R1 and XR500 is 21ms via pingplotter, even when I do a ping test in command prompt the average is still 21ms, but with the XR500 connected I'm losing 1 on 1 gun fights 75% of the time, with the R1 connected that goes down to around 25%, even when I was having profile banding issues with BT with the R1 connected, it wasn't losing to many 1 on 1 gun fights.

The ping is the same 10 - 12ms when it pings a server. I know what you are saying and you are right, but my experience is different. I am going to play a few games now it is peak time but I am on the same ISP as zennon and hes said they are not prone to network congestion.

hi fraser, nothing has changed i have been in so many lobbies on live stream and quit the game completely due to me getting shredded because of the bullet reg. my shots are on point but they are like 2 shot kills me. even though on my screen i have hit them 4 times plus at close range. a couple of members from this forum have come into my streams and asked how did i die when i shoot them. sometimes i can unload a full magazine into them and the last bullet will kill them. I did a ping plotter test yesterday after stream as it was only a 20minute stream as i
game. but im losing 75% packets at hop 4 everything else no packet loss?
