mountainping got a reaction from ColonicBoom in Destiny 2 PS4 id's
keep posting id's so we can get these added to the cloud. remember , id's not player hosts. a lot of people get the two mixed up. when you click on a dedicated server , it should say "temp ban" which indicates its a dedi server and not an actual players ps4 as host..

mountainping got a reaction from N3CR0 in LAG a 33 minute video that can enlighten you about COD & LAG
i believe this, AW never felt directly instant when shooting shots. it also felt like it compensated for peoples connections a lot even though i was on a dedicated server literally down the street. Sledgehammer is amongst those looking for equal skill gap within their game.. i always felt like i got cheated in WWII. as well as AW. though in AW my dodge movement is very decent allowing me to avoid the "they seen me first when on my screen i fired my weapon first" situation. this is the thing i enjoyed very much about AW.... but i digress

Playing COD WWII i encountered a lot of  "wow i should have beat that person to the shot there" . although i firmly believe you can sometimes fix lag, R1 will assist in that.. although it can only do so much when the video game developers introduce tools that involve lag compensation which ultimately determine your experience in game. even so for fps games. the developers design a system that tries to lower the skill gap between players that way the less experienced players can have a good game which in theory would keep them playing and buying dlc. this video will go into detail about some of the topics we discuss here frequently.

watch the video when you have some free time. it basically reiterated what i have an idea of regarding shooters & lag. and will most likely enlighten those of you who are interested in understanding why a player "sees" you first before you see them.

    cheers

The R1 only affects your connection to the host. It's those other crap connection players that connect to your lobby that cause the game to not play so well.

I have 240 Mbps download speed and I get 240 Mbps download speed with the Netduma. Can't help that you set it up wrong and did not ask anyone here for help.

P.S. Just cause it's fast, doesn't make it any better for gaming than 5 Mbps.

Curious, How does the adding I.d.'s work exactly Fraser?
It seems as he is providing you the id's to the peer2peer players he is attempting to connect to and not a server of any sort. Does this mean those players id's will be whitelisted for everyone; and end up allowing us to connect to them when we matchmake even when they are not near us since they are whitelisted? if so this is confusing since his region/area is not the same as ours. Still learning about the workings of the cloud & hope to understand it a little better

We did go over this on the other thread. I provided instructions. http://badmodems.com/Tools.htmI provided in depth pingplotter instructions.. http://badmodems.com/PinrplotterInstructions.htm

I can help you here tho. >>EVERY PUMA 6 TESTS THE SAME<<.. So. Your plots will look exactly the same as mine as long as your doing them per the instructions above. I would set interval to 0.05. This will give you a clearer view of the issue. >USE A WIRE< >FOR TESTING REMOVE THE ROUTER- HOOK DIRECT<<.. I have however tested pumas using really old routers from 15 years ago on 802.11B with the router missing a antenna and still clearly plotted the Puma 6 spikes.

    >YOU HAVE THIS ISSUE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE<  >>ITS IMPOSSIBLE THAT YOURS IS DIFFERENT<<

ALL PUMA MODEMS ARE CURRENTY BROKEN. INTEL HAS CONFIRMED THIS.

What did improve for you was DNS look ups. That improved.

ICMP Ping - and any test based on it - however now hides the issues.

This is exactly how your modem is performing..

In this test I run speed test at the same time as i plotted to show how the modem responds when you do more then one thing at a time. You can see the latency jump WAY up. You can see this does not happen on the Broadcom based modem. The red is where I was swapping modems live.

This is a direct AB, Intel VS Broadcom. The red is where I swapped modems and had to call to have cable co activate the other one.

I believe that Nemisis is just telling us of his experiences with the 6190 and the V version of the latest "beta" that was pushed out and seems to be now released by the ISPs as this information was posted recently on DSLR, that only some of the major issues have been or seems to have been resolved. I presume he's not saying that the entire issue if fixed nor recommending users go out and buy this modem. There are clearly more issues that Intel and Arris is working on and still continue to work towards hopefully getting this fixed. I'm glad that Nemisis is expressing his experiences as time goes on, and Intel makes changes and gets them pushed, we can count on Nemisis to keep us informed as well as others on the DSLR forum about this issue. It seems to be taking time however and users of any of the Puma 6/7 chip set needs to be patient if they are using them. Of course, if users have a chance to use something else, please get into a Broadcom based modem as they are not effected by this issue.

For users with the SB 6190, then your best option would be to ask for this version and get a bit better experiences with your Puma 6 based modem if your using one. Fixes are going to be in stages and it takes time for Intel and Arris to test each fix so as to ensure nothing else breaks, once the tested fix is passed from the modem Mfrs, then the ISPs have to test it again so they can make sure it doesn't break anything on there system before they push it to there customer. Thats how it is and why it takes time.

Review the later information about this on DSLR. You'll see that Arris has been working on it. Been recent post from an Arris Engineer regarding it. Its a work in progress.
