Netduma Fraser reacted to Netduma Luke in DumaOS Announcement: Development Progress & Testing
    Hi everyone,

Luke here with an update on DumaOS. Iain would usually be the one to post this but he is travelling at the moment and he was adamant we shared this with you before the end of the week.

You can read the update on our site here:

And here is a copy and paste below:

I believe it's because IPv6 does not have NAT so once it gets to the router it has no idea where the packets are supposed to be headed and therefore IPv4 is used instead whereas with a modem there is only one destination. So I don't think it will currently be possible, there may be things we can do, I'll have to look into it

Easiest way to tell is have strict mode on, ping assist 0. Radius covering Washington and see if you get a game within your radius.

    Have you done all this?

Modem mode on ISP hub or R1 in ISP hub DMZ?
UPnP & Port forwarding disabled on the ISP hub?
UPnP forwarding disabled in misc settings on the R1
    UPnP OR port forwarding done?

Don't unplug the router, that will cause settings to reset which is why you're having that problem. If you need to reboot then do so from settings > miscellaneous.

What devices do you have in hyper traffic? It should only be consoles. Nothing with high intensity traffic should be included otherwise it could cause issues.

You shouldn't have port forwarding & UPnP enabled as this could cause conflicts.

If you think it may be DHCP then set a static IP for every device in DHCP lease and see if the dropouts stop.

You won't get 200 out of the WiFi by the way.

You should be getting more than that. Use a WiFi analyser to find the least congested channel in your area and change to that. Also make sure you've got the router set up for your speeds:

Netduma Fraser reacted to 3rdEden in VPN Option not working
So I managed to fix it.

I had a hunch on why it was failing every single time. When I paste the configuration from the Open VPN file in the textarea and pressed apply I kept seeing the old logs of the previous VPN information. After refreshing the page the old configuration was showing up again instead of the one that was added in the textarea. In addition these symptoms, the VPN page was loading really slow and continuously freezing in Google Chrome. So my impression was because the previous configuration had:
resolv-retry infinite Which would cause an infinite loop if the VPN connection failed, as seen in my case. With no option to stop the VPN (even after restart) I decided to do a factory reset of the router. I loaded up the new configuration that was posted above and now it's correctly showing "Connected" as notice.

    The log now correctly shows:

Again you're saying modem > router > Duma so does that mean you have 3 "boxes"? If so then remove the router so it's modem > router. Everything should be connected to the R1 so yes that's good.

Great to hear you have your issue resolved. Any reason you have modem > modem/router > Netduma? Are there devices connected to the modem/router? Everything should be connected to the Netduma in order for congestion control to work correctly. Would recommend modem > Netduma > all devices.

WAN IP from device manager is the correct IP to put into DMZ yes.

    NAT Type 2 is open

Could indicate an issue with your line or just be the Google server misbehaving as it sometimes does. Would recommend downloading a program called ping plotter to check if it's google or your line.

If you are seeing packet loss using PingPlotter i think there maybe a bug with certain two router set up's.

    On a windows machine.
    Start > run > type cmd > type ....
    ping bbc.co.uk -n 25
    or
    ping twitter.com -n 25
    or
    ping twitter.co.uk -n 25

-n 25 will ping the server 25 times

Depending on where in the world you live you would pick a .co.uk or a .com URL or I.P
    For Apple users

Open Network Utility (located inside Applications > Utilities). Click Ping. Then do the above without the -n 25 and enter 25 into the "send only _ pings" instead.

If you see 0 loss then its a PingPlotter bug.

if at the end of the test it shows 0 packet loss then it is a bug.

Zen stated it's a Ping Plotter bug in my other thread and that's most likely what it is. I don't see myself getting an A+ bufferbloat with max speeds, no packet loss anywhere else I test, etc. while having that much packet loss shown on Ping Plotter lol I also tried a different port out of my hub like you said just for the hell of it but still got the same readings. Probably just a bug like Zen said lol Thanks!
