Netduma has said the upgrade will be Free.  That covers Cheap

No one in the #DumaArmy is content with being "good" - we are all driven, highly competitive games (and people).  We wouldn't be here if we weren't constantly trying to improve and get better.  Good isn't going to cut it.

That leaves Fast - Which Iain and Co have said repeatedly they are not going to rush a half-assed product out the door.  Fast was never on the table for obvious reasons.

You can only stop using your smarthub if you have an Openreach modem like the one pictured below. If you don’t have one of these then you have to use the smarthub as a modem.

You can get an extra powerline adapter for your Xbox, a lot of us use powerline adapters as it’s far better than wireless.

You don’t have to have use a VPN unless you have a specific need for one.

The Duma does not have a built in modem so you need to use the smarthub as a modem, some people use an Openreach modem instead (see bagsta's picture)

I dont use my homehub, I bought the R1 for congestion control and the geo filter mostly.
You should never gameover wifi  if at all possible. Use powerline plugs if you have to but not wifi.

Alright thanks guys. I'm just trying to make sure I understand everything. So basically as I have an open reach box I don't need my smart hub and can just plug it in. I can then plug an extra power line adapter receiver in for my Xbox as it is better than wireless and I can't deal with Ethernet. If there's anything important I should know then please do let me know but other than that I want to say thanks to everyone for informing me on these details and giving me some very useful tips with the power line adapters. I'll look forward to spending time messing with the settings. One more question though, with the VPN do I need to pay for the VPN service or is it included. Do I need to turn the router off and on to get a VPN to work or turn it off? Thank you.

you will need to input your bt login details into the pppoe settings under the wan section of the netduma gui.

    bt username is: [email protected]
password is:  anything you want so long as it is not left blank!

make sure the openreach modem is connected to the netduma via ethernet cable into the duma wan port.

To be honest I wouldn’t use dslreports mate, it’s really inconsistent. Download PingPlotter, ping twitter.com and set the interval to 2.5 seconds that will give you a far better indication of what is happening with your line.

Im sick to change my settings evry 2 days do somtinding stable pls .., why do not they do something stable already I'm tired of changing my settings always every 2 days if they do something like, if you connect on a host you stay there and no Sorry for the inconvenience. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but I'm not sure if it's a good thing.

Well it would help if you told us what game you are playing and what your settings are. Might I suggest you start a support thread of your own to get support if you need it?

Bueno, sería de ayuda si nos dijiste qué juego estás jugando y cuáles son tus ajustes. ¿Puedo sugerirle que inicie un hilo de soporte propio para obtener soporte si lo necesita?

Line fix hasn’t sorted the party issues - defiantly something on Microsoft’s end it would seem. They tweeted about more party fixes the other day for Alpha preview members. So maybe we’ll see a difference once the Xbox update comes out for everybody.

Your ping is fine so your connection is not the issue. May be the server so as above increase your radius or try to force another and see how it plays. FIFA seems to be plagued with this issue regardless of ping. Port forwarding all the ports it asks for may help.

Would just reiterate what others have said here. Bufferbloat is dealt with with congestion control when there is actually enough traffic that could cause congestion

Ping Plotter to twitter.com is a far more accurate way to test.

Ping Plotter IMO gives you the best and most accurate results. I test on DSLReports and it gives me different ping results, in my case 20ms to 60ms difference in my ping time, whilst PP is only from 10ms to 15ms. Plus I ping Twitter for the most accurate and consistent test.

I only use DSLReports to check my speeds.

I have 10 devices connected over wifi and 6 wired. iPhones, tablets, iPads, MacBooks and laptops etc.
My local wifi channels are quite well populated but I don't think quite as congested as yours.
The only solution seems to be what you have already done and utilise a 2nd router for an access point for wifi.
As you mentioned apple products I do recall having a few issues when I first got my MacBook Pro with it dropping the signal over wifi but resolved this by changing the channel.

If the Geo-filter is disabled and you still get the issue then it's not the Duma.

Regarding the ID you provided that's a Microsoft Server so I think its a dedicated server. Did it show up as a padlock?

I have BT Infinity and have no issues with dropping the wifi, Open reach modem Netduma, thats it. If you could elaborate a little on what you have tried already maybe somebody could suggest some things for you to try such as a different wifi channel etc.

Xbox party chat issues is one of my pet hates.

This could be related to your specific setup of course but for years before I had a Netduma there have been chat issues.

I think it reached a peak with BO3, who could hear who would change between lobbies and even during games sometimes, it was really bizarre.
It wasn't even that one person had a problem and was basically muted (which would indicate them having a NAT issue), it seemed to be completely random.
    You could have it all working perfectly in the pre-game lobby and then in the actual match it would change;
Player 1 hearing 2/3/4, player 2 hearing 1/4, player 3 hearing 1/2 and player 4 hearing nobody while people could hear them shouting "where's everybody gone".

My suggestion was going to be the Geo Filter, I'm sure mine has been blocking a chat server before, but I think I can ruin that theory now anyway...
I play a lot of Battlefield now, most of us have a Netduma, and every so often you see the message that someone has left the party and then they rejoin within about 30 seconds. But we all play BF with the Geo Filter completely disabled (because of the server setup) and as far as I know we all have an open NAT too.

I'm running the latest 'standard' Xbox operating system (I'm not in their testing programme) and other than the random and brief dropouts and rejoins, I haven't had a major problem with chat for quite a while that I can remember, at least not since the latest update to the dash.

*There were a lot of party problems in IW though, especially if someone dashboarded the game. Often everyone would have to go all the way back to the first screen to get the game party (not chat party) back together in a lobby. Sometimes everyone had to dashboard the game and reload.

None of which helps you get any nearer a solution though, sorry.
