If I turn geo off it will connect to any of the sever around Europe but if I use geo for just the UK and it tries to connect to a sever outside the geo the game search times out with the error message I think it does this because cold war thinks there is an error with my connection because it can't connect to the severs th r2 is blocking

We shouldn't have to power cycle the r2 every 24 to 48 hours to get the wifi to work either

@Netduma Fraser I think they mean when the game connects 3 times to a server outside of your radius (the ones u excluded in Geo-filter) then Black Ops Cold War will give u this error.
I will test it also in a bit and will confirm if it happens here as well.

Yes you can restart the search but if it doesn't connect in the first 3 attempts it will stop its not the r2 its cold war so have to turn geo filter off not sure if there is a work around for it as its the way cold war is programed by the looks of things

Totally understand that, just relaying the latest information I have, I did ask myself today for a status update on the firmware releases.

I'm having this issue too. I'm on the latest public firmware version. Wifi works good for ~48 - ~72 hours then it starts to slow down to the point of which a reboot is required, which usually then fixes the issue for the next few days.

Fraser is kinda right. Those who is happy with the product wouldn’t end up here.
therefore more than 50% of users posting in this section are likely to be those people with issue.

I know its bot perfect. I am still experiencing some minor bugs that require me to factory reset many times. But so far I am about 70% satisfied. Just make sure to factory reset whenever you encounter some serious bug.

at least now its geo filter function is working as expected to me

This is a support forum, therefore the majority of posts here will be those from people requiring support. I can tell you that of the people who have had issues, they represent a very small percentage of people who have bought the router so it is not the majority of people. I realize that by looking at the forum you get a sense that everyone is having issues because you have nothing to compare it to as you don't see those that are happy and have not contacted us for support. We have put a lot of work into getting out a really solid firmware and I'm confident it will be available very soon as we have now improved our development process.

I've been away for a few days for my birthday so I will be chasing the team to see what the latest is and then we'll let people know. I will close this topic now though as it has gotten a little heated and off topic.

scoobypreza reacted to Netduma Fraser in Is the r2 a placebo
It's not a placebo as it's obviously doing its' job getting you a low ping server. The fluctuation in ping on the game side is then due to that server specifically, i.e. it's under heavy load etc. If that is the case then force a different server, perhaps slightly further away. The R2 will optimize your connection as much as possible but if the game server is under load etc then the router can't help with that and is entirely down to the game.
