Hi everyone, We know what you’re thinking, and we get it. We said R2 updates would be frequent (and they will be), but this update ended up enveloping a lot more than we initially expected. That’s frustrating for you and for us too. However, we hope you’ll find the wait was worth it – this is a huge update with fixes and changes across the board. Feedback on the R2 has been great, helping us to improve everyone’s experience while fixing specific problems too. The changelog below shows just much work has gone into this update. This is the latest in DumaOS and it sets the stage for new features we’ll reveal in the near future. From all of us at Netduma, thanks for your patience, and for caring enough about DumaOS to stay vocal. We hope you enjoy the latest firmware! NEW R2 FIRMWARE: 3.0.205

Hey all, hope you’re doing well. Here’s the latest firmware update for the R2 – 3.0.205 (Sounds great, right?) Nothing huge - but it welcomes several stability, security and general cosmetic improvements to your R2. We recommend you make the upgrade and do a full factory reset afterwards, just to make sure you're starting from a clean slate! You can go ahead and download it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/49gt1wxva9rxame/DumaOS-R2-3.0.205.sig?dl=0 Those that have an R2 on pre-order, rest assured that it will come with this latest firmware pre-installed - if you have any issues or queries, just give us a shout! For the techies amongst you, here's a more detailed change log: System-wide GUI improvements to both cosmetics and Security Increased DHCP cache size to 10000, stopping DHCP from being filled by 1500 requests Improved Traffic Prioritisation for wireless devices Fixed occasional issue where IPv6 devices weren't assigned DHCP IPs DumaOS webserver fixes for improving operating smoothness of GUI Improved DPI detection services Improved Bandwidth Allocation backend

You asked for it. (Like, a lot.) So finally, here it is: the DumaOS mobile app. Currently supporting QoS, Geo-Filter and Device Manager, with more features to come. Download links iOS: https://apple.co/3kCHZ8H Android: https://bit.ly/2RLQ0vA Please use this subforum to let us know of any issues, or anything we can do to improve the app. NOTE: It is compatible with all routers running DumaOS 3.0. See this tweet from yesterday for the current status of DumaOS 3.0 on each platform:

    smooth cold war

If you are running DumaOS, and you are getting 60ms ping, then I think you hay have a few settings that may need tweaking And if you are playing on a 60+ms ping, rather than the more common 10-20 in MP and 30ms in warzone, then 'Call of duty' is probably using its algorithm for lag compensation, by throttling the other users faster connections to compensate for your bad one. I'm sure you must be playing on a better connection than 60+ms.... Also, if you dominate 90% of all lobby's you get in, the games 'Skilled Based Match Making' is probably putting you into easier lobby's than it should be I totally understand how people can complain about connection issues, when you have the servers dictating the speeds of the faster connected users over those that are slowing the server down. Its very obvious when this happens (in my experience). This has been covered in great depth on Youtube. For example how Tick rates work in MP compared to Warzone. The servers update 20 times a second in Warzone when compared to 60 times in MP, so you can clearly see why people experience the 'Super bullet' kills that drop you instantly in warzone. This is why the competitive 'money Games' community called for the tick rates to be increased on the servers that these players play on. Any half decent FPS gamer can identify a discrepancy in the way the game performs. For me, its like night and day if there is a problem with the connection.

    Warzone Bot Lobby Servers

It's worth adding that Geo-filter wasn't designed in this way so you may struggle getting connected to very distant servers, and if you do the latency will likely be very high resulting in a bad experience.

I HAVE UPDATED IT FOR COD MW READ JUST BELOW HOPE ITS NOT TO CONFUSING BUT THIS TOPIC WAS STARTED A LONG TIME AGO It also now shows you how to traffic protize cod mw ports 2019 below I WILL POST COD MW PORTS jUST BELOW HERE these are the ones i found so far i will keep updating it with new ones here I recently upgraded to new dumar os fw and think its great but its missing one thing important i think In network monitor it now does not show you what ports the game you play is connected to uses In cod bo4 now cod mw 20019 i used this feature all the time In cod bo4 same for cod mw19 everytime you would join a new lobby it would show us new ports it was connected to. You would always be connected to two ports in every game this first port is always port 3074 udp the second was always diffrent ever new lobby you join uses diffrent ports If you stayed in the same lobby for an hour the two ports would be the same for an hour or how long you stayed in that lobby . Once you change lobbys the game changes ports it uses so you need to put new ports in traffic priortaztion I think this is why the connection keeps varying For cod mw 2019 its now three ports instead of two HERES WHY ITS IMPORTANT when i put in the ports it uses for that game in traffic priortization my hit registration would get a lot lot better i did this before on cod ww2 now i do it for cod mw2019 and it helped my hit registration .And on cod bo4 Somtimes i would do this during a game. i would be playing a game and struggling to get a kill then in same lobby same people playing i would enter those port number in and the hit registration was great easier kills same for cod mw2019 EVEN IF YOUR NOT PLAYING COD you still might need it for other games. i used it for all my other games to help get a better connection and i would like to use it in the future for new games I really dont wanna downgrade to an older fw just to use this feature as it was so GREAT SO ANY GAME YOU WANNA SEE WHAT PORTS IT USES YOU NEED THIS As some games it dosent tell you all the ports it uses I would love to use this for red dead redemption 2 online when its released soon Fraser told me if enough peole want this feture back in the firmware they would put it back in SO I JUST PUT A POLL UP SO PLEASE VOTE THANKY YOU So i am asking any who might use it before or might wanna use it in the future please vote on the poll here if you would like to see it in i future update I hope i made sence sorry for any typos And please post to say you would like it the more people who say they want it they saidthey would reinstall it if the demands there Thanks i have now edited to update for cod mw READ FROM HERE for cod mw 2019 and how to set up ports correctly From members who know how to set it up correctly below RL317 shows how to in this post below He knows more about it than i do ahe advised me how to set it up correctly Just letting you guys know i think now playing cod mw that the next update that the dumar has has to reinstall the older network monitor My hit detection \hit registration is now brilliant since i done these steps Heres why If you want your hit registration or hit detection to be great read this When playing cod mw the game uses 3 ports to play thats if you want godd hit detection \hit registration The first is port 3074 this is on ps4 i think its 3075 on xbox but i am not sure i dont know about pc The second port stays the same untill you restart the game i think this is the data centre or either matchmaking The 3rd port is changes every new game this is the dedi or peer your playing on Thats why you see new people every game and thats why you do good one game but not the next Thats because you changed dedis and the ports have changed So thats why you need 3 ports every game the first is 3074 the send is the matchmaking or data centre the 3rd is for the game mode you play Atm i am making a list for the ports it uses Just letting you know you can do this yourself to see what ports is needed but you have to downgrade to the older firmware well thats on netdumar1 I dont know about other routers Also this cane be done if you have a router with openwrt on it You would have to ask admins as i dont know anything about the other routers Heres a way to put the ports in traffic priortization Source 3074-3075 destination 30000-45000 udp rule 1 Source 30000-45000 destination 3074-3075 udp rule 2 Source 3074-3075 destination 3100-3500 udp rule 3 not nessasery optional Source 3100-3500 destination 3074-3075 udp rule 4 not nessssery optional HERES A Geofiltre COD WAR : astuce

Hi R2 owners! As our most cutting edge router, the R2 will receive the latest Adblocker lists before other platforms. This means that you may occasionally find that something is blocked which is not supposed to be blocked. For example, you may find that a specific mobile game won't load, or a video streaming site refuses to play. In order to bypass an unwanted block, you have two options: Temporarily pause Adblocker on the device that's experiencing the issue See if you can narrow down exactly which domain is causing the issue, and add it to a manual whitelist If you have problems accessing a useful service, please let us know about it in this thread. I will be able to add domains to the Recommended Whitelist, and fix the problem for all users. Adblocker lists update automatically from the cloud, and we'll be pushing frequent updates to both the Blacklists and the Recommended Whitelist. By reporting in this thread, you'll be helping DumaOS users across all platforms!

    LH1000 Arcadyan Open Beta?

Hey Cameron, we are working on the Arcadyan build now (i've actually got it running myself - playing a bit of COD). We plan to give everyone access to at least a full on us to give us feedback and see if it's good enough. However if there is some interest in a few people with Arcadyan devices joining a early access beta - I can check with the team and see what is possible.

Bullshit, skill is long ago gone in COD. COD is very connection depending. If someones server sync is better than yours, no matter what you'll lose the gunfights all day long.

Hello R2 users, Ping Heatmap is a feature which we will be constantly expanding and improving, and in this thread we'll be taking suggestions for how the feature can be improved. If there are any games missing from Ping Heatmap that you feel should be added, please suggest them here. We will do our best to add them to the list! Bear in mind that some games will be easier to add than others. Also, if any of the current games on the list appear to be failing to connect, or are producing many mislocated servers, please report that as well. By reporting mislocated servers, you will also help us to improve Geo-Filter. Thanks for using DumaOS 3.0!

    Lets talk about AntiBufferBloat

I’ve always found DSLreports only useful as a rough guide, I tend to use PingPlotter and as long as there’s no spikes when hammering your connection it’s good to go. over here PingPlotter was used to identify an issue with my ISP which is BT where no matter what setting you used i.e. congestion control there was spikes appearing when people were streaming twitch or Netflix. This also included all subsidiaries of BT and they are slowly rolling out a fix. DSLreports missed all that with its tests which is why I tend to use PingPlotter.

Are you seriously saying that with a K / D 3.75 you want to play silver lobbies? With that K / D it is logical and normal that in the lobbies you play they are difficult and hard, what is not normal is that you intend to play in gold or silver lobbies ... I understand that someone like Waka with a K / D of 1.14 and if you get into difficult lobbies, try to get something like that, but you with 3.75? I honestly think it is a absurdity... It's as if you were a first division soccer player and you wanted to play in a local neighborhood league ... some of you really want things that ...😆

how to get better hit detection

Ok ladies and gentlemen idk if they fixed the hit detection issue on pc, but my hit detection has been absolutely brilliant like “back in the day” when I first tried port prio. I’ve changed absolutely nothing on my end and I’ve played at least 20 games across servers from Texas to Cali, to Oklahoma with consistent results across all. I haven’t had to deny a server all evening. Kinda makes me want to remove all my denies and start over. For reference my congestion control sliders are set at 98% up and down with never selected. My bandwidth allocation flower has all values equal. Share excess is not checked for up or down. NO traffic prio. I’m forwarding the ports activision lists. Upnp is on. Weird I know but works best for my setup. 🤷🏽‍♂️ DumaOS classified games is on. Geo filter is set to about 500 miles around where I personally live. I think that about covers it. It’s so good right now I hope I don’t have to reboot my router and I hope there’s no update to the game. 🤣 I’m working on lmg’s right now and the M60 is making ppl quit the lobby. I hope y'all have as much luck as I’ve had because this came out of nowhere. 😳

Lets break this down. I'll explain to you most misconceptions as this is very common. This is how a pro player/coach would analyze what you said as well. "nearly every encounter is me taking damage the moment the enemy appears on my screen without having any time to ADS or with me shooting first but they end up killing me," - You should be already ADS. you aren't suppose to win gunfights if your enemy has peak advantage or if they are ready before you. Bad Fundamentals "Killcam shows them barely getting damaged/shooting me first? " - Kill cams are not an accurate representation of what happened. "More importantly, do you know how I can be one of those players that can out run bullets or shoots first and kills first? "- You need to learn how to camera correctly and how to analyze good angles. But you shouldn't rely on it. Ex: I optimized shotzzy and he doesn't rely on cameras. He is just technically gifted and his reaction time is low. This is why he "Jokes" People. The router isn't going to do it for you. " I don't think optimising your connection to be the best it can be is the way to go. it feels like it has the opposite effect tbh." - False. All Top Players want the lowest latency possible. Don't try to rely on inconsistency. Rely on fundamentals. This is what happens when you listen to "I feel that its better" post instead of statistical analysis. "I have fibre direct to my premises (100Mbps), dumaos shows I ping the servers 6-7ms and in-game it's anywhere from 18-30ms yet it feels like how a 100ms+ match would feel it previous titles."- This is due to bad fundamentals. You are 100 ms behind because you are sprinting into gunfights not centering. The router can't fix things like this. You have to learn and play to improve. "DumaOS and OpenWRT" - It's similar if you have an R2. Based off the same platform. Duma is WAY more user friendly. "My console is hardwired, play on a 1ms monitor, have the necessary ports forwarded and have an open NAT. Even when I'm the only one using my network I still get a poor gaming experience but other users shouldn't matter as I have my console traffic prioritised above all else." - You only tried to optimize up to the router. There is the modem/gateway -> Node -> Aggregator -> ISP -> Backbone -> How your traffic routes (Least expensive route or lowest cost?). There is way more to it. For the netduma, listen to everything Frazer says and the Netduma Staff. Trust me DON'T GO BASED OFF "It Feels Better Post" This will lead to more inconsistency and you will be even more frustrated. Remember, Pro Players never blame their tech. They take personal responsibility. Learn to do this and improve. We all think we are the best at what we do and let ego get in the way. Professionals know they aren't the best and put in hard work to compensate for it. This is what makes them great. Practice, Improve, Follow the Guides, have fun. Netduma didn't make the router to cheat the system. It's to provide you consistency. You aren't suppose to be sprinting and win gunfights. That only works for low skilled opponents. At the highest level, your fundamentals will cost you a tremendous amount of gunfights. Hope this helps! I hope I don't come off harsh or anything. This is not to criticize you but actually tell you the truth and help you improve.

So am I done with Netduma since the beginning or, can we expect a fix? While I’d love to say it doesn’t matter that I’m not using the router, I can’t feel a real difference in the servers I am connecting to. This is the longest I’ve gone without the router in almost 7 years. I need a realistic timeframe on an update, beginning to lose patience a bit. And I’m someone who keeps patience here.
  23. 4 points
Title says it all. @Netduma Fraser A bit more transparency and less closing threads that aren't even close to being uncivil or insulting. We bought a new version of a product, knowing full well of the sketchy update history of previous iterations (still stuck in Beta for R1 I believe?), and yet again, we find ourselves waiting for new firmware on a device which is less than 6 months old. Not demanding for anything, just clarity for your customers. That's all.

En janvier 2020 j'ai eu l'idée de flasher un certain mikrotik 😛 et je peux vous assurer que je ne regrette pas, associé a dumaOS remis au gout du jour !

netduma R2 with sky dhcp option 61

I thought i would make a quick post with some information for the sky user in the uk. I set the router up with my my sky router to start off with but then found the setting to make it work with my own modem which is a BT Openreach Huawei EchoLife HG612 and netduma R2 0. conect the router to the modem in my case the open reach one 1. since my router was allready setup Its just a matter of going to the network setting menu Which is located on the left side of the UI. 2. clicking on the DHCP setting on the right side under the heading WAN. 3. Toggle the 2 setting for DHCP Identifiers which are Client Identifier ID and Vender Class ID 4. add this code into the Client Identifier ID. 52616e646f6d7573657240736b7964736c7c70617373776f7264 5. add this to the Vender Class ID 6.14.7aNUNIPCBAFAST2504NV1.0 click save network and the router will now conect to sky broadband. I have included a photo to show the setting and how mine looks.

To be honest, the tech specs are not that impressive. The XR500 / XR700 probably have better hardware. It is a step up from the R1 though and really for $150 is a good chunk cheaper than the XR line. One advantage I can think of though is that the support from Netgear is lacking and with the R2 you would have support straight from Netduma.

I'm not saying that, we just want it to as bug free as we can make it. The more people that test it the more bugs will be found.

Auto ping vs in game ping

In game ping meters add processing delay etc. All games do this, that is why the in game ping is higher. Auto Ping is your direct ping to the server and this is what you should focus on as it is what you can control.

Same error code for me as well. That only started popping up after the update as well, after the party sits for some time. Prior to latest update, there was no indication other than “connecting” status. @Netduma Fraser - thanks. Appreciate the team’s work; just hope that the timeline is pretty short. I would imagine there’s going to be an increasing number of instances of this given we’re going into a huge game season.

Hmmmm it s been over a week now since the beta for XR450 came out.... when is XR700 ready? I cannot understand how you can piss off your prem router clients like that....

If Traffic Prioritization prioritizes then auto enable will work. The port forwarding is likely a problem as it prevents the other consoles from having ports be opened. When you have multiple consoles it is much better to have UPnP enabled so would suggest deleting those rules.

Did you know the Duma Army spans over 100 countries? For a bit of fun, we've created a Member Map. Tag your location in the world here: http://forum.netduma.com/membermap/ (Obviously don't put your EXACT location, just put home town / state etc).

    Small delay to launch

Totally understandable! I love DumaOS as much as many on this forum (the smoothness in Modern Warfare has actually helped me up my game too), so I want to get this product out! We will send some updates out on Forums and media when we are ready to go!

I use to have the R1 and it worked flawlessly, but since it didn't have 5ghz, I finally retired it. Used a linksys wrt32x for a couple years worked flawless. Tried out the Netgear XR500 and had major connection issues. No internet, factory reset no internet etc. Finally returned it and went back to the linksys. Just bought the R2 and was having the same issues as the nighthawk. No internet etc, then it finally connected. It stayed connected for about 48hrs, then net died. Restarted router and bam, cant get an ip from the modem. Factory reset, same thing then all of a sudden it would connect. During this time Rapps will barely load. now i get a lot of "This Rapp is not loaded yet, please try again in a minute." Ive disabled ipv6, changed rapps from 3 to 5, tried cloning my Linksys router mac address. Nothing seemed to work. Removed mac clone and now it connected again. Been working for about 48 hours again, now its acting up again with "This Rapp is not loaded yet, please try again in a minute." I'm afraid to reboot the router as it will then revert back to not connected... Right now, Traffic controller is the main rapp not loading at all. restarted pc, used dif browsers, nothing. I really don't want to factory reset again as I have set this up several times already, takes a long time. ISP: Spectrum Modem: Technicolor DPC3216 Speed: 200 down, 10 up I dont know what else to do. I love the dumaos software but it seems there is a conflict somewhere. Any suggestions

I've responded to the topic that you created. Thank you for your input. That issue does not affect getting internet straight away, if the issue does appear it is something that occurs after some time, not fresh out the box preventing an internet connection. The DHCP doesn't prevent a connection but causes it to drop, therefore they are different issues. It's in beta right now so that's not clear at all. I get you are frustrated but I'm the one who helps with peoples issues and tries to get them resolved, I read everything all the time so I know the minute differences between issues that make them different. I don't create the software or determine release times, I just try to help.

    ping heatmap

Looking at this thread, it seems like the icons on the map are offset up and left a bit. I will look into this.

    Hardware locking up

We will have a tool that will help us diagnose WiFi issues in the next few days and from there we should be able to tweak the power in order to boost the signal strength.

    Need help with my benchmark.

Hi @Logic, I'm Adrian, one of the devs behind Connection Benchmark. First of all, looking at your screenshots your unit seems to be fine, so don't worry. Let me explain what is going on: Your network speeds are very good, but the latency of your connection seems quite unstable (unfortunately, there is a limit on what we can do here, and in this case it seems your ISP's fault). The reason why I think that is because when I look at the Ping (Under Load) stage of the Connection Benchmark test, the idle seems very unstable. What is happening with the Auto-Setup on QoS is that the tool is trying too hard to stabilize your connection, because its trying to ensure you don't get spikes. This is a known issue and something we plan to improve over time. In fact, a new firmware should be coming today (I believe its a matter of hours) with some fixes, including making sure the minimum value set is 1% and increasing the test accuracy. But the Auto-Setup is, in the end, a suggestion. If the speeds given to you are too low, feel free to give yourself a higher percentage (as other people suggest, 70% seems fine). Also assume that depending on the hour of the day your ISP network might vary, so I would suggest decreasing the sliders when you are experiencing lag spikes in games, and increasing them if you feel something (like a Netflix video or a download) is not being as fast as you want it to be. Hope this helps!

There is a tool from Netgear called "Netgear Switch Discovery Tool" if you run it on your PC it will find the switch on your network and you will see it's IP. Also there is a button on it that takes you directly to the managment interface. https://www.netgear.com/support/product/netgear-switch-discovery-tool.aspx

This is just my opinion but I don't see a reason why we couldn't have both. Some people prefer a more in depth booklet / instruction guide and some will prefer a quick start booklet and learn on the fly with the guide. I read the guide again and went through the tutorial and I've had the Duma since 2014 but a refresher never hurt anyone, along with the new features. So IMO why not do both because everyone will have different preferences on how they wish to research information, again just my opinion

ANNOUNCEMENT: The Netduma R2 is here

    Finally! Just pre ordered

Yes it is still in development. I imagine it will be available around the time of the 3.0 firmware release or slightly after that as we're developing it to include some of the features available in 3.0.
