    Port forwarding Cold War

@Fuzy @Netduma Fraser I will hook up my other router and see which ports Black Ops Cold War really uses while in game. But I am on PS4 and will look if i see a difference when Crossplay is enabled/disabled.

So it's been a bit over a week since I got the current firmware and same as when I criticize something, I should give props as well, so here goes: Firmware is quite solid, and my biggest pet peeve, which was having to reboot every few days or so, seems to be a thing of the past. I initially upgraded over current settings (I know the risks, just wanted to test that functionality), and the only thing that seemed broken was the Connection Benchmark, which worked again once I performed a full factory reset. I can finally disable Adblocker for specific devices, and the selection actually sticks, which is amazing. I feel the lists are a bit aggressive at times, but as long as I can add my own from PiHole (which I can), I'm good. I never really had any issues with WiFi, but it does feel a bit faster, although that might be the placebo effect that comes from factory resetting. Time will tell, but no complaints there. Small issue I had, but now we can add special characters to passwords, which to me, represents a whole lot of peace of mind. I always knew it was a minor bug, but one that had me changing the password on all my devices. Not critical, but weird and quite a hassle. QoS auto setup is more conservative and accurate now. I always go with 70/70 myself manually, but the auto setup goes a long way for new adopters. Kudos on that! Rapps feel more responsive, and less prone to loading issues. I assume this will only get better as more development resources as well as time get poured over the product. As I said, if you take the time to be critical, you should also make an effort to to praise as well. I still believe communication and actual delivery of the firmware are the dark spots on an otherwise great device, but no product is perfect. Keep it up folks, and special shoutout to @Netduma Fraser for putting up with my complaining ass. You are the real MVP.

    VLAN Feature on R2

The VLAN could also be interesting for the French people using the Internet provider "Free" and its "Freebox" ADSL boxes, because their are using a VLAN between the modem and the TV player. By not supporting VLAN, the player cannot be plugged behind the R2 router. The provider 'Free' is currently having around 6 686 000 clients using their services.

Double NAT on Xbox and no ipv6

I dont think the XR700 is fully compatible for IPV6 yet.. I could be wrong on that but if you are going to try and enable IPV6 on the XR700 I would disable QoS then try it.. My understanding was anything that isnt running DumaOS 3.0 ones IPV6 wouldnt work correctly.. I could be wrong on that.. Im sure Netduma will chime in for you to give better clairification.. Thanks! Zippy.

    Geo filter and cold war

@Netduma Fraser I think they mean when the game connects 3 times to a server outside of your radius (the ones u excluded in Geo-filter) then Black Ops Cold War will give u this error. I will test it also in a bit and will confirm if it happens here as well.

    ANNOUNCEMENT: DUMAOS 3.0 IS HERE

@Killhippie i am gonna keep it short and simple. I am a customer who bought a router that has been released for 2 years so expect at least support for the coming 2-3 years. I bought a Nighthawk Pro Gaming XR700 in 2018 i didnt buy a R9000 in 2016 or "18 so I expect some support for the product that i bought. And about the TV's, 1 u can't compare a tv with a router and 2 tv's get software and firmware updates even years after release. And I had a ASUS GT-11000AX in summer 2019, that WiFi 6 is not so big as u think, there are not even so much devices that support it, back then my Samsung S10 was the only device i had that have WiFi 6 and in my case i use wired connection for gaming.

I managed to fix this issue - for anyone who experiences the same issue - the latest nvidia driver for cold war was the culprit....i rolled back to the driver I used during the beta and that was it. Finally...managed to get some nice saved gameplay as well 😎

It isn't a must but recommended. If you encounter an issue then that is the first step I would suggest taking but if no issues then leave it as is.

    losing connection

Sorry to hear you're having these issues. They're really the only suggestions I have at the moment - other than setting static/reserved IPs for devices in DHCP and if possible the R2 WAN IP until we can get a new firmware out.

Alright looks like a factory reset after the downgrade has fixed things so far. Will report back if anything goes south in the coming days. Thanks for the help!

    ANNOUNCEMENT: DUMAOS 3.0 IS HERE

@Netduma Fraser i didn't mean it bad or harsh in a way i have no problem with the way u phrased it, just want to get this out in the world so maybe NETGEAR wakes up and think, hey there are people aware that we are lacking on our products support. ASUS RT-AC5300 is released end of 2015 i have mine since begin of 2016, sorry my bad NETGEAR XR700 was released 2018. It stays a expensive product that people have bought and they expect frequent updates especially for routers, lots of bugs, security updates and internet connections changing. Dhcp issues, driver updates, get Routed-IPTV working, load some ISP profiles from different regions like if u are W-EU u get only like from those countries main ISP's.

    ANNOUNCEMENT: DUMAOS 3.0 IS HERE

@Netduma Fraser at first i didnt want to reply on the topic as i know u are always willing to help and do your best for us here at the forum but as i feel like your the one we can speak through to Netduma and Netgear i had to say something. 1st of all i dont know a router which firmware got updated and someone had to pay for it (we already paid when we bought the router). 2nd it is totally ridiculous that a router had 6 updates in it's 2-year life (it is as well one of the high end routers of NETGEAR). I compared the updates for my 2015 ASUS RT-AC5300 vs 2018 NETGEAR XR700 the ASUS had 7 firmware updates in 2020 only (and they are working on 386. firmware currently 384. there is a beta running for 386. as well) while the NETGEAR XR700 had only 6 firmware updates since 2018.

    WiFi dropped

Tried everything. I have about 15-20 WiFi drops for no reason. Have put it in front of asus router lan to lan, In front lan to wan. After lan to lan, after lan to wan Also tried alone with same issue. Has been updated to latest firmware and repaired to factory settings 3 different times. Have tried everything I can think of. After unplugging and replugging wifi comes back on. It is every device that I loose wifi.
