its got nothing to do with sbmm, its net-working. I play 1 game and drop 50+ kills in team death-match, everyone one in the lobby sames slow and behind. the next game I dont have time to react when me and someone run into each other at a full sprint, me with a sub machine gun set up for quick draw and them with a 400ms ads time light machine gun. if you play battlefield 5 theirs net working numbers you can have on the screen, one of them is basically the sync between the players. I'm pretty sure this is one of many of the problems.

Am I the only one where no matter if I have the geo filter on or not, or if I'm on a server in the UK (where I'm from), the middle east or America. It always shows the ping as less than 30ms? Surely that can't be right? I've just stopped using the geo filter now as it doesn't seem to make any difference in modern warfare.

Great to hear that. You've actually added it already so the VPN should be applied to the entire device now. Would recommend you enable Block traffic if VPN disconnects so it cuts off the internet to the device if the VPN disconnects so your IP is safe.
  6. 1 point
No that's port forwarding. On the Congestion Control page for Hyper Traffic you should be able to select ports you would like to prioritize.

    trying to fix lagcomp expiriment

You use a PC and a console. The PC needs to have 2 network ports or wifi. You connect 1 port to the Netduma and 1 port to your console. Then turn on Internet Connection sharing. In DumaOS call your PC a games console and add it to the geofilter, port forwarding etc. Forward ports in windows ICS and voila. Now you can use wireshark to capture traffic and you can also run a connection emulator to add additional latency. I use SoftPerfect Connection Emulator. It lets you target a specific protocol like UDP and a specific port if you want to. But CoD MW seems to be changing it's ports every time so I just delay all UDP. You can adjust the latency values while it's running.

Pingplotter do I have an issue?

OK thanks for confirming. I thought things were OK but just wanted to check to see if it helped my COD experience.

Pingplotter do I have an issue?

No this looks okay. You can ignore the hops at the top for the most part, if you get any red bars on the bottom graph then that would be packet loss that you need to be concerned about but looks good.

    QOS on the xr450 inferior?

You're right, it shouldn't happen. It could be that it's taking a little time to sync with your connection, speeds can be reduced etc during this time so I'd give it a chance and see if it settles.
  14. 1 point
Not every single game will be amazing, there are variables outside your control. I would keep the settings you have and you should see that you still get good games.

    Cloud update any news ?

Well we're always working on improving the cloud to improve compatibility so that of course does help but regardless, what seems to happen is a CoD game comes out and people complain about the connection for months. I've speculated on why this could be and I assume it is down to how many people are playing the game at once - remember it comes out like early Nov then it's thanksgiving, black friday then Christmas - a lot of downtime that people have and a lot of spending going on. So I think the servers get hammered, they allocate a certain amount of servers for the game and rarely expand on that so server lag comes into it. Then as the new year begins people are working more again, they have less time and people are player less so the servers aren't as full so the connection is better. Then they start dropping hints not long after that about a new CoD so people jump on the old one and you can that boost again and connection gets worse. Rince, repeat every year, that's my theory anyway.

The red line on the graph does indicate packet loss. Hard to tell exactly where it's occurring as can't see the whole program but appears to be either within the home or just like one hop from you. Do you get it when there is nothing saturating it as that would be more concerning.

when you create the config file, make sure you create it with iOS selected (iPhone) as the platform. Don't ask me why, I just know it works.

I don't really know if game priors hight ping players. çwhen I had lagbuster, I could add all the latency I wanted, but never worked, it was laggy all time. But I noticed that players who has the flag of my country in his gametag seems to have advantage over me, and players from other country are balanced. Some they rush over me, and some others not. Really, I don´t know what to believe
  21. 1 point
Oh OK, that makes sense. I will see what I can find. The game is a real mess at the moment with regards to lag and lag compensation. No matter what ping I've got it seems to perform poorly. Its very difficult to get a decent game and have yet to find out a consistent way of doing so. I've just been leaving the geo filter off which is how I noticed.

Lag-comp... how much I hated this thing. In CoD4 and MW2 era I had ADSL connection, and my ping was between 65 and 80ms depending the days. I noticed that when it was 65, my games were much better, and a total disaster when I was 80 ms Next year I got a coaxial cable connection, and ping reduced to 25ms. I thought that this would help me in my game experience, but nothing further thant reality. My games were BAD. This is when, after some investigation, heard about lag-comp, and started a fight that I never in live have been able to win. Lots an lots on hours trying new router settings, tryied different routers (pleaso, do not beleive youtubers saying that his router is the best, don't waste money), PC settings, and a lot of unsense actions that never worked. I even bought a gear called LagBuster (wich cost me more than a netduma) that some of you may remember. The LagBuster had a function in wich you could add artificial latency to your conection to fix Lag-com. I can assure you that never worked. No matter if I added 0, or 100, or 1000ms to my connection, it was useless. Always laggy. So at this point, I seriously started to think if lag-comp was the real guilty of my bad games, or it was other factors, and I still doubt it. This year, I finally got a fiber connection with 12ms ping, and results are random, but under my experience, I can assure that netduma is, by far, is the best gear that will help you in your games. I know that not always we have great experiences, but the tweaks that netduma allows you to do, can't be found (or I haven´t found them) in any other router.

    Too many devices/switches/AP's?

I went ahead and added the general ports for Both PS4 and Xbox to the port triggering list. Checked majority of games and they seem to fall under the same ones so going to see how that fares.
  24. 1 point
The likelyhood of that happening is minimal especially if there aren't many ports open to the internet but I get what you're saying and I understand that. I can only report what is happening, if I was a developer/responisble for releasing upgrades then I'd jump on it myself but I'm not sadly.

Wait for 3.0 (I imagine it will be in the new year but who knows, you wont get a fix now, and 3.0 is still in development from what we are told) also bear in mind the R1 will get it before the XR500, as Netgear have to test its compatibility with their firmware and hardware, so nobody even knows if the XR500 will get 3.0 for sure, and if they did they cant say (NDA). There are more secrets here than at the NSA headquarters it seems...

¡Hola bienvenido al foro! Luego vea si eso mejora el problema. - Hello, welcome to the forum! Cloud update any news ?

There is nothing bad about it, Alex just requires some extra help with CoD as opposed to some of the other cloud updates done in the past. If it was to be the case that this could not be done then it would be escalated to get dev help and if nothing could be done we would let people know. It's also important to note that this same cycle happens every year in which the new CoD is released and everyone hates the netcode, how it plays etc and then it smooths out. Shouldn't be like that but it is.

@kinel On the XR500 you dont get the port overlapping message. I use port 3074 as the source and destination port for each rule created, hope the pic helps.

If you had 8ms in game chances are you were not on a dedicated server. That's what battlenonse says in his video.
