    QOS issues (again)

To be fair to them I left both the home hub and the R1 there and they both took no notice and didn't blame the hardware. For this one though I'll definitely remove everything so that there's no excuses

    More Hybrid VPN Options

@Netduma Alex And maybe custom DNS options for HybridVPN like I previously mentioned. I think @Tripper would like this also for various VPN providers. It should have a basic / advanced mode. 😄

LAG and Bad Ping all of sudden

Here in the UK we have a test socket behind the master socket faceplate. You place a filter in the test socket then connect the modem/router to it via an RJ11 cable the you can test with ping plotter directly from the modem/router. I do not know about the US etc so I would test directly from your ISP modem/router via Ethernet to a computer running ping plotter. Run a test on PP using twitter.com using no other bandwidth (use on an idle line) If there is still an issue buy new cables from the wall to the modem/router and new Ethernet. If there is still an issue contact your ISP

    Recommended speeds?

If you were to do a speed test after setting to 70%, you would see the results as 70% of your overall speeds yes. I think Alex meant that the hardware of the R1 doesn't have the same capacity for speed as the XR500.

    QOS issues (again)

Called ISP he reckoned the line is all over the place with dropped packets etc. but believes it's a network issue rather than a line issue. Engineer is coming first thing Friday morning (hopefully). Last time a BT engineer came he said it was an openreach problem so I don't have much hope for this one to do anything but book another engineer. I'll let you know.

    QOS issues (again)

I actually had this problem a few weeks ago. They’ve actually just been replaced by the engineer and my speeds retuned to normal and even increased by about 5mbps over what we used to get. We have the 5C master socket from BT now. If you have any more advice Bagsta69 then it would be useful as you had a similar experience. But any input is welcome as usual!

    QOS issues (again)

Try this set up. Congestion control set to always 70% each slider. Under bandwidth allocation for for download update and reset distribution For upload update and reset distribution At the bottom of the same page under traffic prioritisation. Untick DumaOs prioritised games. Add you console manually by clicking add device. Reboot from the GUI.

    QOS issues (again)

Reboot from the the DumaOS software GUI, not a turn off and on from the plug. If that has no change, unplug the XR500 for 5 minutes and try again.

    QOS issues (again)

Forward the ports to the device running PingPlotter, then saturate the connection from somewhere else. Your connection is fast enough that you shouldn't be seeing any spikes but we'll see.

    OPTIMAL CONFIGURATION?

In our defence, the XR500 is very popular and Netgear sells many many units. I think that the purchase to problem ratio is pretty good, personally. Obviously if there's a lot of routers out there, the number of faulty routers will also be higher.

    QOS issues (again)

So just for clarification you want me to put my PC in the XR500 DMZ and re do the ping plotter tests while loading up a YouTube video on my phone? Also yes I left WMW on as that was what the default value was. Or do you want all saturation to come from the PC as well?

Great, thank you. We'll test the game and see what we can do.

We have detected a problem in your local network. It could be related to problems with your communication devices or with the use of wireless LAN. Although it is perfectly possible to go online using a wireless connection, a cable connection is recommended for stability purposes.

    My Gaming Experience hasn't changed

This router can t change your connection , it stabilized your ping during congestion or could connect in a nearest dedicated servers , thats all for COD. Nothing of magic.. In a recent call of duty games there 's a problem called Lag comp that ruin the gaming experience.. I ve 1 gb/s and 6/7 ms in Italian dedis and my hit detection aren 't so clear.. This Router for me is fantastic , the problem is the netcode..

Well I tested the game yesterday with Geo-Filter, and I was able to force it to connect me to America. I had Ping Assist off, I had Strict Mode on (weirdly) and it seemed to work fine.

I would say the refinements will fix most of the issues, whether or not Netgear decide to take on all of the features but lets face it - why wouldn't they?! So although it's the longer method of patching bugs it should be more sustainable in the future and produce less bugs hopefully. Totally understand if you're too fedup by it, that why we brought out the insider program to try and be more transparent with what we're up to.

You can download old versions here: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/XR700.aspx#download Make sure to read Alex's instructions above ^

You're talking about a Netgear Nighthawk Pro Gaming router right? In the firmware updates section of settings, there is an automatic updates option, and if you press I Disagree and press save, your system will remain on the version it's currently on. You can download whichever old version you want from here (if you're on an XR500): https://www.netgear.com/support/product/XR500.aspx When you go through the setup procedure, make sure that you refuse any updates that it finds automatically!

    QOS issues (again)

My PC was in the DMZ, my phone was the only device on the network. The first huge spike can be ignored as I had anti-bufferbloat set to high prioroty, it was then changed to always for the rest of the graph (still big spikes).

    My Gaming Experience hasn't changed

Guys I have 2 of the best servers SOCAL and DALLAS within 600 miles of my location. Geo-Location circle is only enclosed with those 2 in it. QOS is setup as good as I can using online tutorials. But the bullet registration is still garbage though. My ISP is Comcast and my speed is 200Mb up and 6Mb down. So now what?
