Hello all, Just wanted to post a few questions and maybe some thoughts on a new Fiber service finally coming into my area for residential customers. This is a very local mom and pop company that got the job to update the 911 service in my area, they have been around for several years and a while back opened up to start taking residential customers. I have done a lot of thinking and believe using their service will be a great addition to our home. Currently have Comcast cable and internet with very subpar performance. We pay for 150/10-their blast service as they call it.
Questions:
(1) So with the above statement of our current 150/10 plan In your opinion what plan from the Fiber company should we choose?
(NOTE: We will be switching to a totally streaming household, using Netflix,Sling Tv,PS Vue, or something similar for the TV part of our entertainment)(We use multiple devices in our home with 4 Iphones , 3-4 Ipads, 3 PS 4's and an Xbox One as well as a
laptop from time to time)
They sell the following plans for Residential customers: 25/10
50/15
100/25 *With this said, I was thinking the 100/25
200/50 or the 200/50 plan should suit us.
500/75
Thoughts? 1000/100
(2) The Fiber company installs into our home the Fiber to a connection box outside the home. Assume that I should just connect to our NetDuma R1 and run our set up as I have been doing since we got our Duma.
* Just making sure I shouldn't or wouldn't need to add another router to my setup.
(3) Should I then just reconfigure the input speeds of the new Internet service provider in my NetDuma? (Assume everything I have saved will still stay the same in the NetDuma) (Finally have things sorted pretty well as of now and don't want to start again as it was painful getting this far-Fingers crossed)
Any thoughts are very much appreciated!
Just want to sort the change over in my mind and wanted other opinions or concerns before we switch. looking for the switch to me made within the next few weeks.
