  1. so this bad boy finally arrived and I can’t wait to hook it up! Ngl though the little note that came with it for some reason got me in the feels. Although I’ve had my fair share of rants with mods over the years with COD related stress (especially advanced warfare) I’d like to thank the whole netduma team and the forum mods for their continued support to gaming and gamers! thnx again Duma team!
  2. Thank you guys for listening to the feedback and releasing the R3 sooner than anticipated. I bought the R1 back in 2014/15 and then the R2 in 2020. I didn’t expect new hardware until 2025/2026 but 3 years later here we are! cannot wait to get my hands on the new hardware. On that note I do have one question regarding bufferbloat. No matter what I do I can’t reduce upload buffer bloat beyond 35-40 ms. Download is amazing gives A+ but upload is always B. Even when nothing else is using the line or even connected to the internet. Is this hardware related? Or something else out of my control? Currently on the R2 hopefully the R3 will fix this.
  3. Oh that’s a good shout then dude. However, without a properly working geo filter the R2 feels a bit redundant as the only additional feature the R2 has is its geofilter. Without that my asus honestly has better specs and has a way better wireless connection. My R2 constantly disconnects throughout the day. I’ll keep playing on the Asus until the geofilter issue is resolved or at least looked into. thanks for the response!
  4. Hey dude I’m not an expert but will answer based on my experience with R2 on call of duty. For the first question, it’s unavoidable that when you play on a server which is far from your usuals your ping will naturally be higher that can’t be avoided. Although how high I can’t tell you you’d need to test it yourself. MW3 beta was great to test this as the game shows you your live ping so I’d say have a go and see. (edit : not all server quality is the same, so you may potentially get better ping on a server which is further away but this is rare) For your second question, once you set your geofilter on your console it will affect that connection regardless of game. So you’d have the same geo filter settings in warzone and MP. From personal experience, you have to be party leader or you either won’t find a game or be kicked from the lobby once a game starts If someone else is hosting and they get a server outside of your set region. For your last question, yes a simple toggle is all it takes and yes I believe you have to resync every now and then to ensure you’re getting the correct server locations. (edit: sorry yes the process is simple but you have to assign the connection you want the geo filter on, so assign it to the console you’re playing on from the drop down after you click add - this is from using the R1 and R2 I don’t know if all routers are the same but I expect they would be). again I’m not an expert so happy to be corrected by others.
  5. Hi all, As evident in the title my experience has been horrible on mw3 beta using my R2. I started playing from Friday at release until Sunday midday and it’s the common complaints which have plagued cod for years. Shoot first and die, get killed after turning corners, get insta melted even when I clearly shot first ect ect. Following a mini break from the team I had about 30 mins until friends got back from lunch so I pulled out my Asus 88u (which is an old but great router still today). Out of the box it was nothing special in terms of gaming features but I did have Merlin installed on it so after all the updates it’s pretty much on par with the R2 without the geo filter. I configured the asus as closely to the R2 as possible, packet priority, bandwidth limiting, same ports being opened, console in DMZ and a few other QOS features available. Honestly the connection was night and day! My experience changed instantly, hit reg felt more on point, I was killing people much quicker to where it even felt like hit marker sounds were occurring when they should (I hit someone and simultaneously hear the hit marker sound and they die as expected). Still had the odd occasion of being melted but most of my deaths felt fair. Prior to this I would play a few games and get off or wait until my team got on as I hated the game. Following the router change, I’ve played the game almost non stop even solo with randoms. The game now feels great. This isn’t me hating on the R2 as I’ve supported this company since release being an R1 and an R2 owner, if they were to release the R3 tomorrow I’d be in line to buy one. But I’m starting to lose hope… Is this a case of the router components not being the best or maybe a case of too many tweaks in settings? Maybe the Geo filter isn’t working as it should? Could the over heating be causing issues because I’ve noticed the R2 does run extremely hot almost all of the time. The Asus so far has been cool as a cucumber. Does anyone have similar experiences? Thanks in advanced.
  6. Hi all, my Netduma R2 is on version 3.0.205 and I wanted to update to the latest version. I recall historically that were advised to not upgrade if there was a version jump if more than 2 versions. Is it safe for me to update or do I need to install the version in between in order? Thank you
  7. So an the dreaded update came on Wednesday and since then Cold War runs like shit again... Fuck this trash game...
  8. Hi all, i can’t seem to figure out why I can’t speak to a friend on group chat. The mic icon flashes for about 30 seconds before greying out and suggesting a nat issue. He lives within the geo filter radius range, I have put him on the allowed list, I have DMZ set to my condone and I have an open NAT. I suspect the issue is on his end and his nat is either moderate or strict but he says it’s open. We are able to join each other’s games without any issues and game chat works just fine it’s just the private group chat that throws fit.
  9. Just like the cods of the past a random patch changed everything for the better! I’ve struggled with this game since release in terms of bad hit detection and lag. However this year I drew it up to sbmm (either the competition was better so I couldn’t go off like before or sbmm would cause an increased lag due to how the matchmaking now works) but everything changed with last weeks mid season patch! Hit detection since the patch feels amazing, I no longer get melted and the guns seem to work as intended matching their damage profiles. KD, SPM and average time alive has sky rocketed compared to games prior to last weeks update as well as my playtime! I am now looking over my shoulder for the next patch which messes everything and I go back to zombies. Anyone else experienced this phenomenon last week or with previous cod titles? I waited a week before posting this because I wanted to make sure it’s not a placebo which it proved out not to be. Even my accuracy went up?! How can my accuracy improve so drastically overnight to cause my average game accuracy to increase by almost 3%? I use the same gun and set up as before. I will add prior to the patch I tried changing things myself (play wireless, play with strict nat, throttle bandwidth, play in a different region ect ect nothing worked in the long term or in some cases my experience felt worse). I’d be happy for 3arc to not release another patch and just get working on their new game at this point as at least now the game feels fair and dare I say “fun”! I will update when the inevitable happens and a random future patch takes me back to square one 😭
  10. Again I disagree, this is no longer a case of a few players moaning. The pros as well as big youtubers are now speaking up this is not something Activision can shrug at. We heard it all before with regards to DLC maps what happened? The community won. We heard it with loot boxes and the community in the end still won. The fact is there is a lot of competition out there and Activision cant ignore to please the noobs who will probably move on after a few days. The noobs who decide to stay themselves aren’t going to be satisfied with sbmm or how these patents work. People like you who aren’t too bothered by it are unlikely to pump money into cod like the wider fanbase. Therefore in the end we will see a resolution and gamers will win in the end. Until then people will continue to abuse sbmm and the noobs will get beat on anyway. Why do you think gameplay channels are thriving and doing so well in the era of sbmm?
  11. I disagree, the current design is severely flawed as you’re not only alienating your fanbase who have supported the franchise for years but also new players who won’t have fun in the long run. Not dying remains fun for a limited time before those new players are the one who want to dominate but find they can’t because as you get better so does your opposition meaning you never feel progression. Not to mention the loopholes in the current system where session joining someone with lower skill level bypasses sbmm anyway. There is no problem with having a protected category for new comers but to assign a skill bracket for your entire player base and then mess around with their aim assist or hit boxes is disgusting. Destiny 2 being the prime example of above as interest in the game was so low that mp was non existent until they removed sbmm unfortunately in their case it was too little too late. so where do we draw the line? Fifa 2022 new players have 99 rating players and their goals are the size of the ball itself? Fighting games where new players have the ability to 1 hit ko their opponents? Racing games where experienced players must use a tricycle to race?
  12. It seems everyday we get more bad news about call of duty. Just yesterday we were talking about the skill based match making controversy today we’ve already moved onto something much much worse. Just when you think Activision can’t get any worse than they already are they prove themselves to be worse and at this point in time worse than EA (never thought I’d say that, ever....) but here we are! So for those of you who don’t know yet a patent was found yesterday by a youtuber called wyysosirious. The patent talks about AI in the background manipulating various aspects of the game. A players attributes for example, accuracy, hit box, aim assist, player health, damage dealt and even spawns can be altered depending on the players skill level or how they are performing in a given match. This explains why you dominate a game and half way through everything changes and you feel as if bullets don’t connect or aim assist feels off but obviously we’ve always chalked it up to connection because nobody expected this shady shit going on in the background. This is so wrong on so many levels in terms of fair play but also negatively impacts real life as at times when the game is actively fixing situation against you it’s only natural you have arguments with family who you think is causing the sudden change in how the game plays. I’ve had countless arguments with siblings or my Internet provider claiming internet isn’t correct when it’s actually Activision screwing people over with their bs. I cannot wait for battlefield 6 after 11 years I think I’m actually done with Activision and their bullshit.
  13. Sorry late reply been busy with work hadn’t checked. The answer is no, when I put the asus in repeater mode it acts as a Wi-Fi extender. NAT and other such features are disabled and everything is handled by the R2.
