  1. Hi, Im wondering if i have everything set up AS OPTIMAL as can be, my set up is; BT fibre ONT - smart hub 2 - xr500 The smart hub 2 i have disabled upnp, disabled wifi, I have put the xr500 in its DMZ and disabled the firewall on the SH2. XR500 is in DHCP mode and has everything wired to it. One question i have is about IP addresses, When i set up the xr500 i did a factory reset and it gave the xr500 an address of 10.0.0.1, the SH2 uses 192.168.1.254 as an gateway ip with the dhcp range from 192.168.1.64 - .253. Would it be better if i gave the SH2 a gateway ip of 192.168.1.1 and the xr500 192.168.1.2 or doesnt it matter one bit as long as it is within its DHCP range? Thanks
  2. Hello! I am looking for recommendations for a whole house wifi solution as i am sick of having 13 billion and 2 ssid's , I want one wifi network that works off of the netduma router so qos can control it. Thanks in advance!
  3. im on 2.3.2.56, Sure why not.........is the latest beta firmware for the xr500 V2.3.2.104?
  4. ITS ALIIIVEEE! Back up and running. Thank you! Do you recomend doing a factory reset now? as it still has everything set the way i did before...
  5. i tried to reboot it using the reboot button on the interface. Waited a few minutes and noticed the amber light was just flashing, waiting another couple of minutes and it was still just flashing with no internet light on. held down the reset button on back of router for about 30 seconds and no joy. It is well out of warranty as i bought it when they were first released. il give that link a go
  6. Tried to reboot xr500 and now i just have a solid amber light, i have tried holding down reset button on back of router and i have also tried doing the following .....https://kb.netgear.com/19841/Reinstall-the-firmware-on-a-router-without-the-setup-CD-recovery-tool Does this mean the router is now a very sleek paper weight?
  7. Power light is lit constantly, and if i am connected to port 4, port 4 occasionally flickers. When i try to connect to 192.168.77.1, the page tries to load then i see "Your connection was interrupted" When i try to connect to http://Dumaos i see a no internet message. I tried to factory reset by holding down the reset button on the back of the R2 for 25 seconds and the power light did not flicker at all. I have gone into network settings and changed my laptops IP to 192.168.77.2, Subnet mask 255.255.255.0, and made the default gateway 192.168.77.1 and then tried connecting to 192.168.77.1 and http://Dumaos again but no luck
  8. Hi, im having the same issue as in this thread - i have tried holding down the reset button for 25 seconds and the power light doesn't so much as flicker.
  9. Just an update, i woke up this morning to my xr500 having no internet, long story short i had to do a factory reset and i have just gone to do a speedtest, im consistently getting the speed i pay for instantly and i have lost 7ms of ping over my usual servers on speedtest.net , but more importantly on pingplotter now, with QoS at 70% i have next to no movement on ping what so ever. Even with QoS disabled whilst watching a 1080p60fps video on YouTube im not seeing any pingspikes, certainly nothing like i was where it was hundreds of ms. 😀
  10. An update on from the BT forum thread that is 82 pages long, thought id update as it sounds promising but i wont hold my breath ; Hi everyone, Thank you for your feedback. We’re aware that in some specific cases, customers are experiencing increased latency when simultaneously using streaming video services and gaming online using the same connection. This issue only affects some of our customers, and only in the specific instance where they are using a console or PC to play games online while streaming video, not purely online gaming services like Google Stadia. The good news is that we’ve tested and approved a fix which we are now rolling out within our network to resolve the issue for the vast majority of the customers that experienced it. We’ll be rolling out these updates to resolve this issue for all of our customers over the coming months. While we’re doing this, we ask customers to contact our moderators in the community if they’re still experiencing this issue and we may be able to help resolve the issue more quickly on a case by case basis. Thanks for your patience and we apologise for any inconvenience while we’ve investigated and worked to fix this. Cheers Sean
  11. Quick one........I know that when port forwarding i should turn off upnp. If im using port triggering and have upnp enabled will it cause issues? Thanks
