#183656 R1 DumaOS Briefly Delayed

Posted by Madman on 14 June 2018 - 12:11 AM

The silence can create rumors and false speculation, but I’ve come the conclusion that the NetDuma support team has been instructed not respond to this thread for the simple fact of not knowing when it will be ready. Saying anything at this point would not help the situation but just fuel the disappointment even further. My advice for all those waiting, for your sanity’s sake, just forget about asking or posting anything on this thread. When the DumaOS is ready, you will know, it’s not something that’s going to fly underneath the radar. If I were in NetDumas shoes I would’ve given the customers updates throughout the delay, but unfortunately that ship has sailed long time ago. All we really can do now is be patient and hope for the best.

#183474 Rubber bullets ww2

Posted by Madman on 11 June 2018 - 07:41 PM

Yup, I can confirm that a ww2 has a sweet spot when it comes to ping. I was pinging to servers in California at 15ms and experienced that I would get melted and have no reaction time 9 out of 10 times. So I experimented with other server locations that would give me a ping of 80 to 100ms and I would noticed the hit detection also was bad. Finally I found a server that pings 45-50ms and hit reg is finally acceptable 9 out of 10 times. Every now and then a will still feel horrible but I believe it has a lot to do with the players in lobby and how the game balances out the lag compensation. Play around with different servers with your geo filter until you find a server that is 40-50ms and share your results! Hope it works for anyone who tries this method...

#170598 ANIMATING THE NETDUMA LOGO

Posted by Madman on 19 January 2018 - 03:12 AM

Should of removed the floor for a cleaner look, are you using Thrausi in C4D.

Haven't tried playing with that plugin, but I might look into it. I used polyfx and broke up the logo into quadrangles with a little help of the knife tool.

I think all your work is excellent and this is no exception.

You do some wicked cool stuff... :D

Thanks Fuzzy!

#169813 NETGEAR XR500 VS NETDUMA R1 | EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Posted by Madman on 13 January 2018 - 03:05 AM

Thanks for all the feedback fellas, the whole idea of the video was to put aside doubts and prevent any letdowns the XR500 may of come with. By no means is it to bash or to be against buying the XR500 but to empower your mind with an informative decision.

#169286 Major Announcement: Netduma partner with NETGEAR to launch the Nighthawk XR50...

Posted by Madman on 09 January 2018 - 06:48 PM

Hi all,

I can't respond to you all personally so I will answer the general themes I have seen in the comments. Thank you for all the kinds words and the feedback.

--

Can you exchange the R1 for the XR500 or get a discount towards the XR500?

- Netgear are a separate company so that wouldn't be possible.

Can we put DumaOS on our existing Netgear router?

- No you can't. Unless Netgear decide in future that they want to allow that.

Why April if DumaOS is ready now?

- DumaOS for the R1 has/will have more new and exciting features which therefore takes longer to perfect. As it is slower hardware we also need to do a lot of speed optimisations. As well as doing the Settings section ourselves. The XR500 utilises Netgear settings integrated with DumaOS.

Availability outside the US?

- That is a question for Netgear but I'm sure they will branch out of the US soon.

How fast will updates come out/will there be new features?

- The R1 will have faster updates and new features in the long run.

The price is too high.

- We don't have any influence on how Netgear calculate the final retail price.

Does the XR500 have the Anti-Jitter/Anti-Spike feature?

- No, that is on our R1 roadmap.

No anti-jitter on the NetGear XR500? Ok time to take my trusty R1 off of Craigslist then!  Congratulations with the NetGear partnership fellas, I'm glad other routers are recognizing how great your software really is! One more question before completely throwing away the idea of buying an XR500; will the Netgear XR500 have r-apps?
