#166799 Netduma router - What's the point?

Posted by PharmDawgg on 2 days ago

I got a feeling game developers would not look favorably on devices being able to control entire lobbies. That might be considered an unfair advantage. You would think game developers would improve this when matchmaking. I would be ok with waiting a little longer to get in game if I knew this was happening. This being a tighter limit on different lobby’s pings 😊

#165366 Configuration help

I would connect the R1 to your primary router.  Connect a lan port from primary router to the wan port of the R1.  Then connect the gaming devices (i.e. console, pc. etc) to the R1.  Now here's the interesting part the primary router will give the R1 it's own ip address.(i.e. 192.168.1.x.) And the R1 will give every thing behind it it's own ip address (i.e.192.168.88.x).

Here's the tricky part you may or may not have to do this if your primary is robust.

Go check you gaming device. If you have an open nat then you are set. (This is the ideal situation)

But more than not this will happen you will go to your gaming device and the nat will not be open. It will be either moderate or strict.

Here's how to remedy the situation.  Put the IP address that your primary router gave the R1 into your primary router's dmz. And enable upnp on the R1 as well.  Now all the devices connected to your R1 should have an open nat.

Here's another thing I don't know the devices connected may or may not be have IPv6 functionality.  It really doesn't matter in the bigger picture. It really depends on the primary router and how robust in capabilities it is.

Hope this helps.

#165362 Need some routing tips!

I agree with what IIRL stated.  In order to get the most out of the R1 make sure all devices are connected behind the R1 albeit wired or wireless.  The R1 only supports 2.4Ghz wireless so if you require 5Ghz you may have to install a wifi-extender or use an older router as a access point connected behind the R1.  It is not to complicated to setup.

Now I will say this as a side note. The only reason you probably would not want congestion control is if you have speeds in the gigabit range which I do not but some do.  And they may be able to speak more on this and whether if they use congestion control and if it makes that much of a difference to use or not to use.  Hope this helps.

#164500 Call of duty WW2 help needed!!

I feel your pain. It feels as though the game is not complete or just broken in certain aspects. The word I would use is inconsistent. I’m am beginning to not like the divisions because it limits your setup to a certain point. SHG is determining how you play the game and not YOU. Like I said in another post the game is good it is the connection/matchmaking that is horrendous. I’m on Xbox.

The game in itself is not bad. It is fun. I see they are trying to innovate. I give Sledgehammer an A for effort. But for execution not so much. It is boots on the ground. Zombies has been redone with the Raven horror component. The campaign is engaging and makes feel part of a team. But until Activision/Xbox/PlayStation work out these sever issues the game is going to be doomed for failure except for the hardcore cod players who don’t care and will play it no matter what just because it is cod. And fix the issues over adding pay to win. Because adding it will just compound the problems. So would I recommend buying it. Yes definitely if you have never played a world war shooter before.

#162739 COD WW2 Until now what i figure

Posted by PharmDawgg on 03 November 2017 - 04:11 PM

Only issue was not being able to get on last night because the servers were overloaded. Other than that I’m good. Once I get my settings tweaked and weapons/gear ranked up it will get even better. The grind is real.

#162529 United States Players!!!!!

Yeahp, I know. I never connect to them at all. Only to the closest sever in Georgia. Between 18-35ms each game but I'm still having problems. Having a lower base ping is the only problem I have yet to solve. Netduma setting I have perfect, it's simply the ISP or line through my house. Changed modems and routers 1000 times over so the struggle is real. I'm on my second ISP now so hopefully the third times the charm maybe!!!

If you figure it out let me know because I’m in Georgia.

#162521 Call of Duty: World War 2 Comments and Suggestions.

Posted by PharmDawgg on 01 November 2017 - 11:53 PM

I thought this would be nice to have since we have a new COD coming out in a couple of days. Between all of us playing we should be able to come up with some nice suggestions of what to and what not to use a kind of sounding board of sorts. I have never played a SledgeHammer game before other than MW3 so this will be a new experience for me be it good or bad. Can’t wait.

#162504 Doublr NAT Detected Xbox One Network Settings

Are you able to place the Netduma’s ip address in the Orbi’s dmz? If so that may fix the double nat issue.

In the R1 gui. Go the Settings>Miscellaneous. It should be about midway down the page.

If you are booted it tends to mean that the game wanted to put you into a dedicated server. When this happens, look for a padlock symbol on the Geo-Filter. You should notice that it is outside your radius. This is the dedicated server that the game wanted to connect you to. It is likely the closest to you.

There are a few things you can do:

  1. After setting your home location, set the distance to a small number before pressing the 'Snap' button f3KoZc4.png few times. This will expand the Geo-Filter to an optimum size for getting games by detecting groups of servers.Increase the Geo-Filter distance to include the padlock so you may connect to that game.
  2. Disable strict mode; this will allow more games to be connected to. Please note that they may appear outside of your filter.

  3. Move your home until you get a different host or padlock to appear. (You may have to restart the game). Keep in mind our anti-cheat if you connect to games and continue to try and find other hosts.

  4. You may need to  apply cloud settings 4LkEGp2.png. That will flush out the latest cloud.

#158385 Changing DNS in Duma

Posted by PharmDawgg on 01 September 2017 - 12:28 AM

These are two I am aware of .  If you ask 10 different people you probably with get 10 different answers on which dns servers to use but for me I use OpenDNS on my Xbox exclusively and on my Router I use Google DNS.  This seems to work best for me. But I would never use my ISP's DNS - not very dependable.
