#138237 Question on how to purchase Netduma

Posted by fuzzy clam on 29 January 2017 - 06:24 PM

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new toy, lots of good things in the future with the upcoming release of 2.0 (crazy new firmware) for your new router.

Aside from your console,it's probably the best piece of gaming equipment you could have gotten again welcome to the Duma Army... :)

#138234 DumaOS Announcement: Development Progress & Testing

Posted by fuzzy clam on 29 January 2017 - 06:16 PM

You spent way too much time explaining that Fraser. I woulda just sent a tissue.

Yeah Fraser goes above and beyond in every aspect of his job responsibilities,we've told him before he's to nice but he's really just a hell of a guy.

We might have to start temporarily banning him... ;)

But he's so on the money with what he said, the last time we had a big update they gave a release date and then the testers found some issues with the update it had to be moved back so it would be a working product, and people lost their minds. So much BS on the forum and twitter about it so thanks to those people (and people with that mentality) is the reason no more release dates are given out.

And not to mention if they throw out some half ass finished version on the firmware to the masses and it bricks the router do you know how much money that would cost to ship all those routers back to Netduma HQ,fix or replace and then resend all on their dime ? So that's why they do things the way they do it, it's a business and the last I knew any business that want's to be successful has to make money or they won't be around long.So as much as they love us,and what they do... it has to be business first.

We all want the new firmware but people need to be understanding and have a little patience, their doing the best they can to release a great product for us that actually works upon release.

#138092 PingPlotter results

Posted by fuzzy clam on 28 January 2017 - 05:03 PM

The Netduma is suppressing the spikes caused by youtube.

I would say that the larger spikes are on the line (or caused by the HG633) as they appear on both plots.

I would agree with Boom, the duma's doing what it's suppose to,now to figure out if it's the line or the HG633.

#137901 I hit the reset on the modem and now I cannot connect to network nor will wif...

Posted by fuzzy clam on 26 January 2017 - 12:42 PM

Hank,I moved your post as it will get move views here.

Did you try plugging the ethernet cable into port 1 ?

And when you reset ALWAYS do it from miscellaneous instead of a hard reset, unless that's the only other option.

And you said you can access the interface hardwired correct ?

#137884 Strict NAT Type on MWR

Posted by fuzzy clam on 26 January 2017 - 12:01 PM

Hello i am on xbox one and have tired Areuz idea and it hasnt worked it has been very slow for the past week and it is staring to get annoying.

Well if you've tried all the above suggestions, you might have to port forward it's really easy to do just set a static IP and input the correct ports for the game your playing and the console.

I'm on PS4 and not sure of the correct ports for XBOX but someone will pop in and list them but you can also go to portforward.com and find the correct ports for your console and game.

Might want to just try 3074-3076 both tcp and udp,I know it's worked for people in the past.

And if you need further help like Jack said just ask and someone will walk you thru it.

#137706 DUma getting slower speeds than normal router.

Posted by fuzzy clam on 24 January 2017 - 03:40 PM

Just as Fraser said for set up...wall > modem > duma > other router and everything plugged into the duma to get all the features of it.

#137480 Netduma won't fix my lag

Posted by fuzzy clam on 22 January 2017 - 04:12 PM

What i mean is that my R1 router is getting me a host from closer distance which is good of course but its making the internet with other devices where i use the netduma's WIFI pretty bad and i'm also still lagging while playing with my PS4. I'm gonna call to my internet provider next monday and try to get my internet working properly.

Hard to give you steps in the right direction to find the issue without the screenshots,it helps so much when diagnosing your issue, without them we're all just giving you suggestions from past experiences or situations.

Posting your screenshots work as they are specific to your network issues, so please as Fraser said post them and we'll get you straightened out.

#137369 Bufferbloat question

Posted by fuzzy clam on 21 January 2017 - 04:19 PM

Agree...Damn Boom that's crazy good,I might have to get me one of those Netduma's... :D

And Joe just keep tweaking until you find the most consistent readings but do keep in mind that those readings will fluctuate and change during the course of the day and your home network traffic so always try and do it on a quiet network.

#137019 My suggestions for all my USA folk.

Posted by fuzzy clam on 18 January 2017 - 05:34 PM

I think we all wish there was a setting that would work on everygame, everytime and get consistent gameplay, I know I do but maybe on duma 3.0.

We'll get Iain started early... ;)

#137013 John Wick: Chapter 2 (Pre-Training Video)

Cool news about Wick...bad news about Deadpool, that movie was great IMO and was hoping to have a great second movie as well.Maybe they'll hire a new director and they'll be like 3 line bots coming together to form one super robot... ;)
