  1. I don't have such an option in my router settings. The only place that mentions WPS is the WPS Wizard section.
  2. I have a XR450 and I recently upgraded to the latest firmware. While I was in the settings, I was browsing the various sections. When I purchased this router, years ago, I was unable to disable WPS (light is always on on top of the router). I figure this feature would eventually be added (should have been from the start). Is it still not possible to disable WPS?
  3. I built a pfSense box and I put the XR450 Nighthawk behind it. Modem -> pfSense box -> XR450 Nighthawk I configured the XR450 to have an IP that is on my pfSense subnet. I then hooked an ethernet cable to a LAN port on the XR450 and the other end to my pfSense box. All devices connected to my XR450 ports receive an IP address from pfSense, as well as the wireless devices 👍. It appears that the router itself cannot access the internet, since www.routerlogin.net does not work. Not a big deal, I then entered the routers IP address - 192.168.1.20. The standard DumaOS main screen appeared to start loading, then I received the message 'The R-App is not loaded yet, please try again in a minute.' I could never get R-App to load, so I assume R-Apps are accessing the internet. I then used 192.168.1.20/advanced. This advanced menu loaded just fine and I was able to access the entire menu. My questions: - Is this expected, than the XR450 does not have internet access unless using the WAN port? - Do R-Apps require an internet connection? - If I continue with the current setup, will there be any issues? 🤔 Are any processes going to be continuously trying to access the internet, causing a load on the XR450?
  4. Is it possible to view a log of data usage by device over a period of time? The 'Traffic Meter' is helpful to see overall usage by day, week, month, and previous month. I am looking for usage by device during a specific time. I was viewing my usage data on my ISP website and it shows that I have used 3x the amount of data I normally use. I would really like to see which devices on my network are using the most data.
  5. I want to add a switch (unmanaged) to my LAN. Is it possible to segregate this switch and anything connected to it from other devices connected to my LAN (I dont want anything connected to the switch to access my other devices)? I read about VLANs a little bit and I see this option in the 'Advanced Settings' section of the XR450 admin tool. Is a VLAN what I am looking for?
  6. I thought one of the reasons to use a VPN is so others cannot easily see your public IP.
  7. I setup OpenVPN on my router and mobile phone. I am able to connect via the OpenVPN mobile app. When I google "MyIP", it shows a Verizon IP address not my home IP address. I expected to see my home IP address, is that not the case? I tried viewing "Device Manager" but I don't see any new devices. Since its a VPN, would this show up at all? How can I verify that my mobile device is indeed connected to my home router?
  8. I have Ethernet run throughout the house, including to some outdoor security cameras. I am thinking 'what if' someone were to tap into one of the Ethernet lines. Would it ever happen, probably not, but you never know...
  9. Is it possible to only allow devices on a LAN that have reserved addresses in the DHCP server? I am looking for a way to only allow devices that I approve onto my network (wired and wireless).
  10. Yes, that is why I am trying to figure out how to do this...lol
  11. That option isn't available unless you disable Smart Connect.
  12. Did you figure out how to disable WPS? The link states to enable "Smart Connect". It appears to be enabled on my router but the WPS button is also lit up and the WPS settings page seems to not show it disabled.
  13. I do not have that setting. Under USB Storage I have - Media Server - ReadySHARE Storage - ReadySHARE Vault - USB Settings
