UPNP + QoS Traffic Prioritization

I don't know if this topic has been expounded upon yet. I'd like to cover it briefly and eliminate some confusion. Hopefully, Admins or someone with a little bit of port experience can help?

My XR500 is currently wired to 2 devices (laptop & ps4) with wireless turned off. I have DMZ disabled, with UPNP enabled and a couple port forwarding rulesets Activision recommended for Open NAT.

When I enable UPNP under Advanced Settings my assigned PS4 IP says there's a series of Internal/External ports I've never seen before.

9305-9308 UDP
3074 UDP w/ Internal ports 3166, 3165?

Should I prioritize these internal/external ports UPNP gives me under QoS Trafficking as well?

I'm trying to determine if QoS rulesets for traffic prioritization are even needed with UPnP enabled.

Thanks in advance!

XR500 Update Wishlist (Mods/Devs Tag Thread)

03 May 2018 - 05:48 PM

Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with Netgear's XR500 router. (R7800 with a bit more flash RAM with DumaOS GUI equipped)

Yet as a man who enjoys his pasttime playing FPS console games outside of his career... What can WE the consumers expect from the next update? Will Duma's FW be seamless and

Can we reach a mutual agreement on disabling DPI?

The main reason I purchased this Netgear router with DumaOS GUI was for the Geo-Filter functionality. Now everything seems like a marketing gimmick.

What would you like to see as a "gamechanger" for the next update? Please respond below.

UPnP disabled = Better matchmaking?

Call me crazy but, I've never been a fan of UPnP. I triggered the only 2 ports COD WW2 needs and the game is finally running flawless.

My XR500 is connected to multiple devices but I still don't see the need to enable Universal Plug & Play.

Maybe it's placebo? Anyways, share your thoughts...

I'm not connecting the baddest gaming router on the market to any peripheral devices (printer, tablets, NAS) that may hinder it's performance.

Help with Party Chat.

24 February 2018 - 02:23 AM

This router is a gamechanger, props to the Duma squad for making this unbelievable tandem happen! My biggest problem right now is party chat.

When I join up with friends in party chat there's a NAT issue I cannot resolve and I hear nothing, not even crickets. Do I need to host in order to hear anyone? Any guidance and or help would be much obliged. Thanks!
