#185503 Forum Is its time up?

Posted by Tai N on 13 July 2018 - 09:47 AM

I thought everyone was just happily gaming, I come in visit every few times a week. I think the forums is a great place for news/support + Twitter. Just a few days ago Nadeshot from Call of Duty Optic gaming I think he was from (moved onto his own 100t), did a xr500 unboxing/review video. That should bring in a lot of people for Netduma & Netgear maybe soon. I also love the support the staff gives & am thankful for that, but what else can the moderators say or do besides tell them the usual to the fellow madness of netduma army. They must feel the wrath!

I live in North America! Duluth, Minnesota

Use the cod ultimate profile for the R1, 50 ping if you want pretty decent games, but 40 ping if you want the amazingly best games.

#183493 Ping's to server

Posted by Tai N on 12 June 2018 - 03:42 AM

Nah, I had a better time on CoD when I was with crappy jittery Virgin Media. Now on BT I get a flat 7ms to the UK and it was so bad on WW2 I uninstalled at level 20 odd. Zero hitreg, getting pumped by dudes who are just ahead because of their higher latency, while I'm a deer in headlights supposedly facing in a different direction

And after getting into an IW lobby tonight that included a Brazilian, someone in midwest USA and someone in MALAYSIA along with the usual central Asians and Saudis I can confirm ping is definitely not king LMAO. Might as well just pick my gun up and smack them over the head with it because bubble bullets do sweet fuck all.

BTW you can test CoD servers on PingPlotter if you grab a server IP, but you'd have to figure out how to bridge your PS4 connection through a computer to run Wireshark to find it, then spend an age googling the IPs you find to locate the one that belongs to Choopa/Vultr/whatever. I did that for IW but obviously that isn't relevant anymore.

If you're getting 25ms to the UK from somewhere in the UK you must be somewhere between the midlands and Scotland (or maybe the northwest of Wales)? Most of the biggest melts in the UK are in Scotland on 30ms+. I say move further north and enjoy nobody shooting back at you LOL

I'm actually thinking of moving to St. Louis Missouri or wherever the fuck the server is located there just to get closer to the server, and I'm in Duluth, Minnesota right now. The nearest server I live close by is the Chicago, Illinois server, but I heard there's been lots of shootings over there so I'm scared to move there as my first choice, so second nearest server St. Louis Missouri it is! LOLOLOLO

#183367 Realism for COD

Posted by Tai N on 10 June 2018 - 03:02 PM

Yeah, someone hit me from a mile away with one of them 2 barrel shotguns with incendiary shells and apparently the fire was 'close' enough to kill me, yeah right.... and yeah the outfits are just strange. Some of them look like space gear to me LOL

#181068 Question on ping

Posted by Tai N on 12 May 2018 - 12:43 AM

Try uploading it to a website like https://imgur.com/- just click 'new post'

But yeah, upgrading your internet speed for upload/download won't help your ping unfortunately, I wish though!

#179727 Unnamed Device after unplugging Netduma R1

Posted by Tai N on 27 April 2018 - 09:32 PM

It's actually in the http://192.168.88.1/

When you go into the router settings you will see the categories like host filtering, congestion control, vpn etc. You pick 'Device manager', and then edit and then find that device and change the name.

#179411 Anyone with the XR500 opinions and thoughts

Posted by Tai N on 24 April 2018 - 11:46 PM

Yeah my oldest son always tells me to make vids for youtube. But the market is so oversaturated with that so I don't. There are a lot of ppl that are way better than me too. Cod is basically based on if you have a good crisp connection and if you have good aim your going to wreck. If you don't then your screwed. I'll see if I can get some vids up. I'll have to ask my kid how to do that cause I have no idea, lol

I just wanted to see what it looks like for a fellow MN mate. To share you should be able to just press the share button on the left top of the ps4 controller if that's what you're on, and then just sign into youtube and upload since the ps4 records all your activities. Here's one of mine with good connection just recorded from my ps4 pro. Don't laugh at me! :P

Spoiler

Wow I didn't know John got an XR500, I thought he was just using what his provider gave him, plus he always plugs the R7800 Nighthawk. Good on him.

I think he did at least, he now advertises the xr500 router in his video description instead of the R7800.

#179313 Thoughts IW - WW2

Posted by Tai N on 23 April 2018 - 10:47 PM

You're not the only one, the game is pure bs. Imo the person with the best lag compensation wins in this tittle or the team with the best lag compensation. I notice sometimes 1 team will purely dominate the other team in points and it makes no sense. Sometimes I even see a person in red bars for connection getting the most kills. In domination one team will have only 50 points while the other team is at 190 points? I don't understand and what doesn't make sense is the team with 50 points is full of experienced prestiges while the 190 point team is full of like non-prestiges lvl 40 or so. Also noticed one team have the best lag compensation while the other team can't see shit because their lag compensation is so bad? When I look into the replays the person sees me way before I see them, it shows me just stand there looking like an idiot getting shot at.

I'm not sure about the gun balancing, but yeah shotguns are overpowered with those inced shells or w/e their called. I got burned from the other side of a lake lololo

#177966 im confused is their a new firmware update?

Posted by Tai N on 11 April 2018 - 02:01 AM

I don't think so, as long as you are on version 1.03.6 h/i/j DumaOS is coming on the 17th Tuesday, but besides that everything is all well.

If you are on lower than 1.03.5m - it says to not upgrade yet.

I think this might be the latest version?

#177885 Duma OS

Posted by Tai N on 10 April 2018 - 02:39 PM

I haven't been getting any good gameplay with cod ww2 & bo3 with the r1 lately, but it could just be the cod servers aren't doing so well either. I'm getting bad lag comp. over here ffs.

I'm hoping it will make my gameplay more enjoyable with the new os, if not, I'm going to get the xr500 and that'll be it. If that doesn't work, I'm fucked forever damn it. Might have to move somewhere close enough so the server is in my backyard with google fiber because game is life fam

#177573 Are these results okay? (Pingplotter Graph)

Posted by Tai N on 07 April 2018 - 02:29 PM

Twitters server is based a bit away from you as I can tell by your ISP hops being 26ms before it hops to Twitter at 50ms.

So your base ping is nearer to 26ms, if you ping a closer server to yourself you would get better results.

The plots look fine you have the odd spike but it is nothing to worry about really.

I do not use any bandwidth allocation and use share excess with 70% congestion control as this works best for me, you will only see the benefits if you test while downloading and saturating your line as that is what congestion control is a control for local congestion :)

Ah, I didn't know that. Thanks for this information!

#176555 Docsis 3.0 Model TC-7610 Modem

Posted by Tai N on 23 March 2018 - 02:00 AM

I have it now, I used to use this Ubee modem that was super old, and compared to this modem I notice my Ping was more stable, but gameplay wise I don't think I noticed a huge difference, but the game I was testing it out on was CoD WW2 and that game is just weird overall.

#175713 New Moderators!

Posted by Tai N on 13 March 2018 - 10:29 PM

Congratulations all, they've been very helpful in helping me with suggestions for a new modem :D

#175182 Do different kinds of modems matter?

Posted by Tai N on 09 March 2018 - 03:42 PM

I was wondering if your type of modem matters when gaming since I'm always looking for ways to improve my connection or ping whatever you want to call it, lets just say gameplay as smooth as possible. What are some type or specific modems you guys recommend? Does your isp matter in this type of situation? I know some people will say if it ain't broke, there's no need to fix or change, but honestly this modem looks like a game boy color and it has to go in the trash (time for a new updated one)

I have Charter Spectrum and live in Minnesota Duluth, I think my parents are using this ugly beatup modem made by Ubee I think it's called?, this thing looks like trash and it's small, so I'm probably going to do some research on modems and thought I'd have your guys' input on this and personal preferences from experience with this type of stuff.

I've seen this topic here, and will also be checking on this ping plotter everyone has been recommending.

#174737 Query on keyboard and mouse.

Posted by Tai N on 06 March 2018 - 02:24 AM

Yeah, it's possible. I think it's been happening for quite some time now. Check out cronus max, not sure if you heard about it yet, but it basically makes it so you can use any controller like xbox controller and use it for ps4 or use mouse and keyboard to play ps4. You can use any mouse and keyboard with cronus max. I'm not sure if there's anything else, I've heard of eagle eye, but I heard cronus max was a very popular controller-changing type of thing.
