#174436 Help with Xr500

Posted by Netduma Iain on 02 March 2018 - 02:56 PM

I'm going to be terse because people (including myself) will always find any excuse:

  • If higher ping is better then simply pick a server further away
  • The enemy can't magically get their information to the server faster than you can (if their ping is higher).

I agree playing with players with very high ping is annoying, I'm guessing because you don't get notified until they have put a few shots into you. But you have the advantage for sure, and if they beat you then they would have beaten you even more with lower ping. End of.

Scotty not being rude I love ya but this perpetual myth has to be stopped!

#174427 Netgear Xr500 Duma OS request

Posted by Netduma Iain on 02 March 2018 - 02:14 PM

Really glad you're enjoying it :)

We will reintroduce multiple levels of zoom & also ping assist will be brought back. The allow & deny will be much easier as well.

Finally the Internet test will come back, maybe a little later but much better :D

#172005 XR500 DumaOS Ping Graph Bug

Posted by Netduma Iain on 01 February 2018 - 07:36 PM

Hi Dilly,

Firstly thanks for purchasing the xr500.

We are aware of this. It's not really a bug but rather bad design. When you pin, you pin the ping to that particular host.

We are going to push firmware update soon that has auto ping on the dashboard ping panel. So it changes the target based on the host.

Hope that makes sense :)

#171973 Geofilter issue

Posted by Netduma Iain on 01 February 2018 - 03:48 PM

Further update - it has nothing to do with cloud. It's due to some clever tech we introduced in DumaOS that is not playing nicely with Halo MCC. Just going to double check our findings then we'll write a hot fix.

#171331 need some help on some things

Posted by Netduma Iain on 25 January 2018 - 02:24 AM

The netduma r1 can handle wired speeds up to about 800mbits (although some features may have to be turned off like DPP). The Wi-Fi is limited to just under 100mbits because it is not ac. For tuning the r1 for speed please read this: http://support.netdu...on-speed-lower-

If you have NETGEAR xr500 you can handle all features at 1000mbits. And wireless communication can be even higher. Hope that helps :)

#171181 GeoFilter AutoPing with 2 Consoles

Posted by Netduma Iain on 23 January 2018 - 08:18 AM

HI DeathrayJay,

At the moment it is not possible, unless you do manual pinging.

But thanks for the suggestion, we'll add a ping priority option in future DumaOS update :)

#170801 Have internet but apps wont load

Posted by Netduma Iain on 20 January 2018 - 04:27 PM

Update from Bitdefender on how to whitelist a website. Please do this for http://routerlogin.net and http://192.168.1.1:

To add a website to the Whitelist:

1. Click the B icon on the left sidebar of the Bitdefender interface.

2. Click the VIEW FEATURES link.

3. In the WEB PROTECTION pane, click Whitelist.

4. Provide the address of the blocked website or online application in the corresponding field and click Add.

5. Click Save to save the changes and close the window.

Only websites and applications that you fully trust should be added to this list. These will be excluded from scanning by the following engines: malware, phishing and fraud.

Hi PuppetMaster,

Below is their intial response. However I think adding chorome to the exception list may be not be the best solution. So I've asked them for a more refined solution. Below is their response in the meantime :)

In order to resolve this situation, please add the software to the Bitdefender exclusions lists. To do that, please follow the steps below:

A ). Exclude the files from being scanned by the Bitdefender Virus engines

  1. Open the main interface of Bitdefender 2018 then click on the menu button from the upper left corner.
  2. Select Protection from the left sidebar, then click on View Features from the right side of the window.
  3. Click on the gear icon under Antivirus, then select the Exclusions tab
  4. Click on the Add button next to List of files and folders excluded from scanning
  5. Click browse, locate the files you wish to exclude, then click on OK
  6. Choose whether to exclude the files from  on-access scanning , on-demand scanning or both, then click on Add.
B ). Exclude the process from being monitored by the Advanced Threat Defense module, which relies on identifying malware based on the behavior of the applications:

  1. Open the main interface of Bitdefender 2018 then click on the menu button from the upper left corner.
  2. Select Protection from the left sidebar, then click on View Features from the right side of the window.
  3. Click on the gear icon under Advanced Threat Defense.
  4. Click on “Add applications to the whitelist”
  5. Select the process for the application you wish to exclude (a .exe file normally) then click on OK.
After you follow these steps, please restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
