  1. I’ve tried all of them. Traditional and Badwidth limiter worked the best. Bandwidth limiter was a little goofy sometimes. Adaptive was ok. I’ve even tried Cake that comes with Merlin. That one works best when you can edit values through amtm
  2. I never said I was satisfied at all. I think people fail to realize that there are a lot of bugs to work out of software running on any hardware. It’s not exactly an easy fix sometimes. I knew that it wasn’t going to be the greatest thing ever when I bought it. The software is brand new. It’s a complete overhaul of their previous ones. There are going to be issues. People just don’t have any patience these days. Then you get admins on here saying an update is on the way. Doesn’t come out cause they found another bug with it. People start complaining. It’s ridiculous. Would you rather they just launch an update to launch an update? I think the OP was taken a little out of context. I wasn’t poopyting on the device. I was posting on here to say “Hey, my poopy is doing this , and I think it’s this causing it”. Just wanted to inform. Maybe other people see the post and say “Hey mines doing the same poopy.” Then maybe it’s relayed to the team and they can look into it. I’ve never once owned a piece of tech that was flawless.
  3. I’m not quite sure what you mean by more options. It features a limited qos and some ROG First junk. The dual 2.5 ports are ok when they are acting right. Plus only having gig speed doesn’t really take advantage of them. I’ve ran Asuswrt-Merlin on it ever since I’ve had it. On paper the GT is way better. In reality, when the R3 is running smoothly it performs better.
  4. I’ve been a fan of what the people at Netduma started back with the R1. The GT does prioritize gaming traffic, but that part is built into the QoS. You can’t set device prioritizations. Other then that it’s an excellent piece of hardware. I’ve always loved the geo-filter the most with DumaOS. There’s a lot of “gaming” routers out there that have all these flashy words and this and that. What it really comes down to is the software. DumaOS is hands down the best router software for gaming. The CC and Geo-filter alone are more then what you get with any other router out there. I’ve always bought different routers to try out. It’s somewhat of a hobby to mess around with my internet setup. I’m more than confident the R3 will receive updates and it’ll be running smoothly. Might take a few firmwares to get there but it’ll be all good one day. It’s not a paperweight to me. Even though I’m having issues with it I’m still using it and trying out different settings/setups. The product just launched like a month ago. Give it some time and it’ll be way better!
  5. Looking forward to it! Hopefully it resolves some major issues so the team can start focusing on other features and improvements.
  6. Console test and in game. Just wanted to add there is packet loss on Cloudflares speedtest as well. Waveforms test only gets it occasionally. Running on other router sees no packet loss ever. I'm almost certain its a CPU bottleneck issue with the R3. Hopefully the next firmware fixes it.
  7. I did factory reset. Fiber Sonic Adtran 411 ONT>R3. Every Ethernet cable is CAT7 double shielded. When I check out the CPU usage CPU 2 never goes below 70% and CPU 3 only ever goes up to 1% use.
  8. I've had the R3 ever since it launched. Love the software....when it works. Ran great up until I installed the .23 firmware. I get constant packet loss on Xbox. I've changed all settings imaginable. IPV6 on/off(lan and wan), adblocker on/off, steady ping or no steady ping, DMZ, port forwarding, device prioritized or not, the list goes on. I've changed out my switch and ethernet cables. Changed to all LAN ports available on the R3. Nothing gets rid of the packet loss...unless I just take the the R3 out of the equation. As soon as I hook up my ASUS GT-AX6000 all packet loss issues go away. Another odd thing I've noticed with the IPV6 on R3 is my devices never receive an IPV6 address. Not sure what the issue is there. I've seen on here that the next update is supposed to eliminate the CPU issues so maybe these issues are resolved then. I might try and hook up the Asus for the wifi since its radios are better. Maybe it'll eliminate some strain on the R3 as well. Why is CC limited to 50%? I don't ever remember the R1 limiting that feature.
  9. The bypass feature showed up for the first few weeks I’ve had the router. Just noticed that it’s gone now. I’ll try the incognito mode I have not tried a different port. I’ll do that and post whether it changes or not.
  10. Yes that is correct. The download never seems to be affected. For some reason The Speedtest Bypass feature no longer shows up under the Advanced Ping Optimizer.
  11. LAN. Fiber Modem>R3>NETGEAR SWITCH>XBOX I only have the Console added as a prioritized device. I usually have CC running. The Ping Optimizer in expert mode never runs a ping test below 87% for either up or down. Most of the time I set the sliders myself.
  12. Whenever I have SmartBoost turned on and I run a connection statistics check on my Series X the upload speed is drastically reduced. I pay for 1GB symmetrical fiber. With my older router I would get around 800Mb up and down. The R3 will hit around 900 depending on the time of day. When I turn on SmartBoost my upload drops to 50 - 60Mb.
