Xbox 360 showing as Wireless in device manager but is actually wired

Recommended Posts

I have an Xbox One and Xbox 360 hooked up to my R1.  I'm using upnp so both have an open nat no problem.  I did a factory reset of the R1 today and for some reason my Xbox 360 shows up in the device manager as "Wireless" when it's actually wired.

On the 360 dashboard network connection it also shows as wired when I do the test.  Checked the cable both ends are plugged in correctly as well.

I don't notice any performance issues just trying to figure out how to get it to show as wired like it should.

Wanted to ask for advice because maybe you seen this issue before.  One thing I'm thinking about trying is disconnect the 360 and remove it from the deivce manager on the R1. Reboot and then hook it back up to see if that fixes the problem. Won't be able to test that until later.

I think your suggested fix might be the best way to fix this. Maybe even just a simple reboot could solve the problem :)

Tried the reboot that didn't help. But later tonight I'll try what I suggested. I'll report back either way.

This happens with a few of my devices, it's just cosmetic and everything works properly so nothing to worry about it.

I remember talking to Iain about this and he mentioned it's actually hard to figure out if a device is wired or wireless, it's counter-intuitive but it came from the man himself so I'm not arguing :P
