Logging on to the forum through a VPN

Hey guys, so Crossy has identified that these pesky spammers have been very persistent in using VPN's to get around our IP bans. So this is more of a heads up for you guys if you're using a VPN to login to the forum that we will soon be banning a lot of VPN IP's in an effort to prevent these spammers from returning.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause!

Yeah I'm sure we can do that, send me a PM with the IPs and I'll make sure they're not blocked :)

An idea to help speed up the process of blocking VPN's IP's is go to each major VPN site and get a list of all there IP's and block them. Even tho I would rather you not :)

That is what I've been doing. There are just a few problem with blocking the VPN IPs but once that is sorted I'll finish off the blacklist.

What problem do you seem to be having? Multiple IP's per server? What if people was using the Tor Browser? Would you even be able to block the spammers IP's then?

:)

Tor browser won't be an issue because even if there IP isn't blocked, there are other restrictive methods that have been put in place today that they'd have to get passed.

RBL blocking would work, I am wondering how you could block the Tor network. People using bridges and whatnot could be using anyones IP/DNS.

I know this is not the correct forum to be talking about this, since this is not news :) Feel free to move it to the correct location if need be.

Tor isn't blocked and I don't think you could block it as it uses so many IPs.
