Yeah when I grew some thumbs after my first CoD I noticed it was shifting towards this. When I first passed 4KD back in Ghosts, I'd have five negative teammates playing TDM solo a good 75% of the time, so basically you're playing 1v6v5 as your team gets streaked on. The good thing was Ghosts had amazing connections so I'd just run specialist, do my thing and try to get the KEM to basically guarantee the victory.

Took me three months of using the Assault Drone on two bars (because the game decided I should be playing on the Seattle server 4500 miles away... totally not SBMM related) to pass 3KD and I STILL got veggies lol. Funny enough I watched Drift0r's video on matchmaking and after passing a certain point (2.8KD I think) I started getting far less games, but most of those were local. I actually threw my disc away after recording this game 😂🤣

 

BO3 seemed really strong in regards to team balancing with few "anomalies". IW had a few WTF moments (like putting a 5 and 4KD together to beat up a bunch of 0-2s) but for the most part it was like Ghosts, if not a little more relaxed. I had a much higher solo win/loss in IW (4.1) compared to Ghosts (1.7) because not only did I get thumb-possessing teammates more often, but nukes gave you a win even if you killed the enemy team with it and your team score was less than the other team's lol:

I get thumbless dumbass' in every CoD. My k/d in IW was around 2.3 I think, currently sitting on a 1.95 on BOps4 right now.

Even with my crappy 1.4 on AW, still got rubbish teammates. I really don't think your k/d has anything to do with it, its more rotten luck I'd say.

Well AW had skill based matchmaking rather than just team balancing (the difference being one affects the matchmaking of course, while the other just affects the lobby after matchmaking) so you'd still get shite teammates after that anyway lol

 

I've seen people using god accounts in Ghosts and BO3. While it doesn't affect the matchmaking, your having a 0.0006KD or whatever would ensure you get all noobs on the other team and the folks who average a kill or more per life on your team. Some say form (maybe your past five games) has an effect but I've never really swung between the extremes enough to test it.

The games may not base the teams on k/d, but it is definitely not luck. Whatever stat they are using causes good players to be punished with an almost always full team of bad players. if you have a k/d near 2.0, then odds are you will experience this as well.

Hades is a slayer. Literally nothing to do with playing on 99/99, placebo / coincidence on those settings in every conceivable way.

Need to back out and search for a new lobby after nearly every win, it's a death sentence staying in a lobby unless you're in a full party.

Even if you are in a full party, and none of the victims from the absolute slaughter in the previous match leave, BO4 seems to find a way to make the next match much more difficult. Strange things start to happen to even the playing field.

Yea definitely not just bad luck it’s by design and everybody that hates IW is entitled to do so, but overall it took care of most all the issues we’re experiencing now more or less and even others from past titles and was a really a fun year for me personally.  Took a break a while and came back to IW and I honestly enjoyed it more overall than either of the last titles and tbh even more than the time I played bo3 after getting back into cod. Granted I was a year late and behind in the map awareness and whatnot, but felt smoother to me too.  Sure it had the normal issues to a much lesser degree, but balancing and or sbmm was actually quite good, it was normally me and another good player against 2 other decent guys and the thumbless just ran around like fools doing their thing.

Get shot first, move the sliders whilst the Poxy  respawn map appears.

Also tell the ex, who will sue your brother and he'll stop uploading

But then it will be too late, the next enemy you'll face probably won't be the 0.5KD player so the sliders would need to be back at 99 or 100 (depending on the fire rate of the gun in your hand). These 'fixes' are going to be impossible to implement in real time.

The best fix I have found after 10 years of playing CoD is this...

Wearing red underpants for TDM.
Blue underpants for OBJ modes.
No underpants if you're using running GungHo + Quickdraw.

I can confirm that it works perfectly sometimes. And it's exactly as effective as all of the other methods detailed on this page.

Putting that image to one-side, if SBMM puts 100+ms players in low ping lobbies use the GEO filter to put yourself somewhere where you ping is high.

That's a legitimate theory on why you'll have some people in a BO4 lobby with such terrible connections. But if you've tried playing out-of-region, in BO4 specifically, then you know how much worse it usually is if you have the high ping. When you go from a 7ms local server to a 100ms out-of-region server, you can easily tell after a couple of gunfights, you'll find everyone sponges your bullets.

Not tried on multiplayer but on blackout playing on USA servers from the UK has been no different to playing on UK ones.

Have even tried playing straight off a Netgear R7000 without R1 (no Bufferbloat or Geo) and had the best run of games since launch. Game play is occasionally a bit twitchy.

Can't really do any substantive testing in Blackout being a single life mode.

Not necessarily, I had many many perfect matches on the NY/NJ server on IW @ 80ms. Played better for me than the UK server @ 7ms.

Seen this too many times. Instant hitmarkers on 74ms to NJ, delayed hitmarkers on 7ms to London. But then at times it's like a one bar on the NJ server and you can't buy a kill 😂

Big difference amigo.  Only partied with friends from across the pond to play with and socialize with friends; never to gain any type of lag comp/high ping advantage.

Can play just as well on my own servers; don't need to fudge anything to make myself feel better

That's what the games matchmaking is doing even without an R1. Blackout Quads (ransoms) puts me on UK servers with what sounds like middle East speaking players. Pointless.

Just wish they would make servers range bound ( eg 0-30, 31 to 60, 61 to 90 etc)  would fix a lot of their netcode in an instant.

I said I've seen it before, not that I see it present tense. Plus with the connections I've seen many Americans get on even the worst quality ISPs (like jittery cable providers), I don't think you have to worry about foreigners lmao
