VPN Support

Recommended Posts

Hello, interesting topic that i did not find any results for in the search tab.. maybe i searched incorrectly. Never the less,

hello forum! Was wondering if DumaOS will ever support other VPN logins other than H.M.A. ? There are several VPN's that have a login interface for pc and such, though some devices in the home do not have the luxury of a login client to VPN. any word on if the DUmaOS will support different VPN's ?

Thank you :)

Hi there - for this you’ll need our new Hybrid VPN feature. It allows you to use any OpenVPN provider and apply the VPN to any device or port.

We will be needing beta testers for it soon. Could you post here if you would like to help test it:

That post seems to be aimed at people who are still using the R1. I have the XR500, and have been waiting ages for the Hybrid VPN feature. Can I sign up for a beta for the XR500?

I dont think there is one yet, that's down to Netgear really Netduma have more control over the R1 than the XR450, XR500 or XR700. Maybe in the next update, we will have to wait and see.

Post in that thread that you have the XR500 and would like to test it out when it’s ready. If we / Netgear can pass it on to you all to test, we will!

Would this support the XR700 too? I'd literally buy XR700 tomorrow if I could beta test this feature. Till then, I won't buy it.

I may be missing something, but there is no Hybrid VPN beta firmware for the XR500....currently only for the R1.  It is misleading to make folks believe that there is.

It's already on the XR700 and will be out on the XR500 as soon as its ready. So if there are people interested in beta testing it on the XR500, then NETGEAR can contact them if they would like a field test

Yes, definitely. In fact, the XR700 launched with a version of Hybrid VPN so you would have the feature now if you ordered it.

& That would actually allow me to use custom OpenVPN Client? :)

Hi,

Just downloaded and installed DumaOS Firmware V2.1.3.29 with Hybrid VPN on the R1.

Can I get some assistance is setting up PIA (Private Internet Access) OpenVPN please?

I have copied the config files sourced from the below link (DEFAULT selected), and pasted them into the Configuration tab of Advanced setup. Then input username and password however it will not allow me to connect.

https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/helpdesk/kb/articles/what-s-the-difference-between-the-ovpn-files

I have also attached a screenshot and the config txt file.

Cheers,
