Hi ive just bought the r1 router just trying to learnhow to use it.

Ive be playing around with the geo filter on fifa. just something i dont get or mybe i need to learn how it works more, i set my geo filter to 500 miles strict mode on and ping assist set to 5 ms,

but i can still find games on rivels p2p and wl dedicated servers, i dont get how im finding games with the ping assist set to 5 ms, or maybe i just need help on how the geo filter and ping assist works.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

I'm not sure where you're located but 500miles is quite a restrictive radius even though it sounds like a lot so would put that to about 650. Also ping assist at 5ms is way too low you will not get a game under that. I'd recommend setting it to 30ms.
