i have strict enabled and have reset my ps4 multiple times

*edit* it will only work for ww2 not infinite warfare :(

Hi, welcome to the forum!

The reason for this will be region locking. If you're trying to force a US server from NZ in Infinite Warfare, the game likely won't be letting you due to the low player base. The server setup changes whenever a new CoD game is released, so you likely wouldn't be able to force a WWII server in the US when Black Ops 4 comes out.

Unfortunately there's not much you can do if the game developers decide to region lock the servers. Are there no AUS servers you can connect to?

Honestly this seems unlikely for IW or any CoD for that matter mate. Seeing a lot of Asians still and now a fair few Americans on EU servers lol. If matchmaking is that bad naturally it should be easy enough to force a move.

Sabar - when I try to connect to other servers I notice the first attempt usually fails, even if I've rebooted everything after changing settings. Sometimes the geofilter just doesn't work and I'll see red circles outside of my radius, but even if that's not the case I can connect to online services with my filter over the US for example, search for a game and then just see triangles appear in Europe over and over again.

What I tend to do is change the settings before I connect to online services, reboot the R1, open the game, connect to online services, open the PS4 browser on the geofilter page, see which servers are pinged when signing in (you shouldn't see red circles only with those settings, just red circles in north America), then search for a game and if I see the game trying to find me an EU game I'll reboot the R1 from the GUI via the PS4 browser, watch the quick menu online status button (greyed out until you're back online), reopen the geofilter page, double tap the PS button (so you can get back to IW with the browser still open in the background), connect to online services, double tap the PS button again and watch the geofilter as you reconnect. Then search for a game and you should start seeing dots in north America. If it fails you can try pulling the PS4 ethernet cable out and then connecting to online services again. You should end up with NA games soon enough.

Good luck :)

Thank you for the helpful advice, i will attempt to follow what IIIRL has said tomorrow and will let you know if it works, yes there are still aussie servers but its locked to only 1 game mode, tdm, I'm trying to get into some infected or dom lobbys as its gettin kinda stale playing tdm all the time. Anyway thanks again

Yeah even I stick to TDM only. Forcing specific servers is fair enough but matchmaking is so loose overall that you get endless triple digit pingers even in the most populated game mode so it's less of a hassle to just stick to that. Would be nice to play some KC or something -_- anyway yeah, good luck with that. It always works eventually, you just have to convince the game you live elsewhere and repeat it a few times haha

i have attempted what you said and servers are coming up its just that they dont connect, i think my best option is to buy a decent vpn and go from there as its kind of a hassle to try and get working, any idea how much extra latency that would add to my current connection if i was getting a ping of 160ms in the first place, im going for express vpn, thanks

I've got no idea mate, sorry; I've never used a VPN.

Last time I tried playing on US servers myself I signed in after an R1 reboot (with the desired settings loaded), and then saw only triangles back in Europe so I pulled my ethernet cable from the PS4 and reconnected, and that got me on to my servers of choice. Maybe give that a try?
