A decent modem can make a huge difference, especially when compared to using one of the all-in-one hubs provided by an ISP.

I'm using one of those "ISP Hubs", not their routers but their Internet/Phone modems TM1602A. It's not that bad. Although bufferfloat isnt that great, also I did test on my Chromebook 5Gz wifi. No ethernet port on it sadly haha.

My setup is Nighthawk R6700, sometimes I hookup my R1 but lately I prefer not to use it. Thats great CryingSoldier you are getting good results and pings.

Ping tests with our ISP are poop sometimes but the speeds make up for it lol.

My results are in my sig, just did the test.

I was kind of weary and doubtful and I didn't think it would make that much of a difference, but ohh boy.. It does!!!   I would still get good games with the Netgear CM700 I had it for about a year and this was my usual report.

Texas, Spectrum (TWC) Internet: 100 Up / 12 Down

Netduma Wifi is disabled.  I have my Netgear Nighthawk R7000 in AP Mode from the Netduma for the 2GHz and 5GHz wifi.

Netduma R1 w/ Netgear CM 700

Netduma Settings: Antiflood 70/70, Upload Prioritisation 20% going to PS4, Hyper Traffic on, Ping Assist 0, Strict mode on, Distance at 1076km or 670miles

Ping: 40-50ms during gaming (Fluctuates during different times of the day)

DSLR Reports: Overall B, Bufferbloat A, Quality B.

Netduma R1 w/ TP-Link TC 7610

Netduma Settings: Same as above

Ping: 10-15ms during gaming (Fluctuates during different times of the day)

DSLR Reports: Overall A+, Bufferbloat A+, Quality A+.

I tested this for over a week, and the ping and DSLR Reports have been consistent with the data.

Just wanted to share my thoughts on how by just switching out a modem, made COD WW2 and BO3 that much more enjoyable.   I do recommend and think its worth the $45.00, but if your set up is working for you and you beasting, don't fix whats not broken. lol..

Later Duma Family.

Sorry I don't mean to make another post after the one above but your First modem has more channels which would and could mean faster speeds when they become available with your ISP.

Your first modem has 32 channels down and 8 up compared to the tp link which has 8 down and 4 up.

ISP's are really starting to do speed upgrades (I'm sure you know). I have Spectrum and just went from 100Mbps to 300. 1 month later another boost to 400Mbps. But man what a difference from the original 100/5 to 400/20. They also over-provision a little so I usually get 440/22.

 Hi all!
Where I can get firmware update for TP-Link TC-7610 modem
Have been told by multiple techs that Comcast does not push firmware updates.  Have been having ongoing connectivity issues that started before I had this modem; purchased a new modem on the recommendation of one of the techs that came out to try and help. Now it needs a firmware update that no one acknowledges Comcast needs to be the one to do. Help?

Comcast most definitely does push the update to the modem. Don't listen to the techs lol

What issues have you been seeing with the SB8200 and CM1000?

Yeah the providers are getting better.  The CM700 did its job, and I think its that Puma chip in there, cause my internet would bottleneck alot of times, and I wouldn't always get my speeds.  I still stuck with it for a year, but I went did some research, and read up on the 7610 plus with how it works with the Netduma and for some reason the 7610 works better.  Especially with gaming..  Its hard to explain, but it just does. lol..    It could be the honeymoon phase also, but as of right now, I'm enjoying the TP Link.

The best you can do is connect without ISP modem, I´ve connected my NETGEAR XR500 straight to the fiber ONT (you need the pppoe user and password)  and I´ve now 4 ms ping to the activision servers.
