Hey guys I'm matt and new to this forum, been tinkering with the idea of the netduma for a while now and at the end of the month I'm grabbing one. Aw is sometimes amazing for me but other times and more often than not it's more stress than having fun playing! Now I'm not an amazing player I'm only sitting on a 1.06 k/d but this is my first cod multiplayer experience I have been playing since blops 1 but I was solely a zombies player but I have been majorly bitten in the arse by the multiplayer bug, but I find I'm playing on an unfair level with the lag and delay I'm getting on the majority of my games, im with sky but the only option for me at this current time is DSL, which is strange considering my friends house literally 2 streets away have virgin fibre optic!? Anyway is there anything I can do with my current setup before I get my netduma,I've read about putting my xboxs ip into my current routers dmz mode or setting but please guys go easy on me,it's fair to say I'm possibly the most noobiest person when it comes to networking! I.e... I know nothing haha, cheers guys.

Matt the noob

Hey Matt, welcome to the forum and thanks for deciding to purchase an R1 router! In terms of what you can do at the moment, just a few questions, how is your xbox connected to the internet, wireless or wired? Also whats your NAT type on CoD? You could port forward the ports that CoD + Xbox uses, the R1 does this automatically for you which is handy!

Hey Mat, welcome to the coolest club in gaming B) Follow Raddy's tutorial and you should be good to go :) Read the second link in Zennon's post too it's full of helpful information.

edit: oops..I fail at reading lol.. I have Sky fibre and can thoroughly recommend the R1

Hey guys thanks for the speedy replys!! I'm currently wired in,and have moderate nat. I looked into port forwarding but I quickly got scared of the process haha so it's good knowing the duma can fix this! Also thanks for the heads up on the guides I'll have a gander! Cheers

If you don't want to port forward I totally get that! You could DMZ your Xbox as well. This would help familiarise you so you could DMZ the R1 when you get it :)

I'm old enough to know it's not going to make me a gaming god or make my k/d shoot up ten fold but I'm sure we all have had moments when we know that gun fights have been lost because of hosts in other countries! just the opportunity to have fair gun fights makes me incredibly excited like a kid in a candy shop btw I'm 31 haha B-)

Hi Matt,

Welcome to the forum. The DMZ is purely for opening your NAT, if the game says you have an open NAT then your setup is probably optimum for your current router.
