Popular Post AOrtiz
Before I start, I will not comment after I write this. Its a simple post on my feelings that was long over due. So as an OG to R1. I wanted to take some time to see what develop before making any comments to the R1 update/non update. Ive been with netduma since the original launch and been very content with the product and technical suoport. I watched over time users become moderators, the making of brilliant developers, Tester and the tech support is superb. Now.. I totally understand the business part of it to bring a product concept to manufacturing and to be know, used and loved by the masses. Making money and keeping people employed is YUGE IMO But... something is missing or lacking and (IN MY OPINION) this release push back to R1 owners is not right.- SORRY Ive seen YOUTUBE commentators, pro-gamers who can move to buy (Because they have the money) or even be supported for FREE a new Netgear Router. - Brilliant. But what about the 3 years that we've been promise and waited for a new software for the R1. Now... I would of gladly paid for this update if this meant to support the NETDUMA ARMY, company and FAMILY. I felt like I was part of the team, so when I heard that "it was a mistake on your part for not designing backward compatibility" I need to call you on it, because once again, i consider you people very intelligent or maybe you were more interested in the netgear that you overlook the R1 AND LISTEN TO THIS... THE USERS. - Possible. Anyways.. I will continue to wait for the update, and maybe in the near future get to enjoy the new operating system for my R1. Take care and GOD Bless Peace jayvee028, mikehd, BlindMeatShield and 4 others

ChriscomIT
wow...still no update. Soon we will get the “hardware is too outdated to support all of the new features”. So sad... Yeah, love to see how a qca soc software for dual-core 1.7GHz runs on mipsbe archi. Would be a tremendous task to realize this. But they said they started developing DumaOS on R1 so maybe I am missing something here.

OR_Jason
Maybe I just bought it at the absolute worst time, but I remember seeing advertisements for "constant firmware upgrades" and "we have released 17 up until now" and all that nonsense. I bought my router about 1.5 to 2 years ago. It came from netduma with 1.0.3.6g. 1.0.3.6h was "off limits" for whatever reason, same thing with i. I finally said "what the heck" and put on 1.3.6j. I have had constant issues just trying to get the netduma to allow for full bandwidth downloads. The gaming works great, but i can only ever achieve about 25% of my throughput. This is due to my ISP using a product called SandVine which "shapes" certain types of traffic. Basically, the netduma and my ISP are both competing to be the bottleneck. I am a network engineer, and I get it. My point is, there have been 0 updates other than EULA updates in the past 2 years. I keep waiting for any update for this "always improving" and "continual upgrades" type of product. The hardware is meh at best, and at this point -- I think I will be putting a WRT or CAKE image on it. At least then, I can add LAN routes and VLan type settings; and even change the subnet mask (not everything needs a /24) -- you know the features I though they would be "continually adding and improving", or existent in a commercially available router. (peplink is my preferred router vendor) https://netduma.com/features/always-improving/-- Except for the past two years, and most likely the next two years. Too bad, it actually did help with some of my lag while gaming. pvls and AOrtiz
Raikun
It says a lot when even the moderators have given up. This shit is done. Like I said before, best bet is to wait for DumaOS to be available for sale, and install it on more powerful routers. Foedus Gratiae
Popular Post fakkel
I know one thing, that I will never buy a Netduma linked product ever again. It is not just about the delays guys, it's about transparency, communication and therefore respect! If you can't the NetdumaOS to work probably with the R1 then that sucks but that's life, but complete radio silence and no support for the NetdumaR1 at all, no bug fixes and or any other fix for that matter is a huge slap in the face. This company has their priorities all wrong and I can't understand how a small start-up like this, things they will ever survive with an attitude like ........ Wut?! You actually released the net NetdumaOS on the R1! '' Now that is great, but I wasn't pounding my head against the wall because of that, noooo, I was pounding my head because in my eyes the Netduma and it's Army was something special and you just threw it away. I want to wish everyone good luck, I finally got my (R1) money back so it is time to move on. JOE1305, pvls, Foedus Gratiae and 2 others

pvls
Promised 'brief weeks' delay resulting in actual months raises questions Netduma needs to address and at least not fool new potential customers, who will buy R1 hoping to get DumaOS on it. Netduma's Project Management team should absolutely have a development schedule for DumaOS for R1 and it's a shame they don't share it with us, their customers. Is the development of DumaOS completely cancelled for R1? If not, then give us the schedule. Does partnership with Netgear block the deployment of DumaOS to R1? If so, find a way to evade it - give us an open beta, leak it to github, whatsoever. Concerned that DumaOS will be pirated and ported to a regular 50US Mikrotik? You should have foreseen this and your customers should not pay your shot. buddy love and Foedus Gratiae
RL317
Promised 'brief weeks' delay resulting in actual months raises questions Netduma needs to address And it's not like they're adding anything new, checking for bugs, stress testing or "building from the ground up" anymore. They admitted the OS is otherwise complete in the OP: "Nothing more as we have everything else working" 10 weeks with no word after breaking the news it wouldn't be released a few HOURS before launch time, just to make it backward compatible... and they still haven't replied, never mind released it. Lol. Is it unreasonable to expect a little communication? I wonder if those who have access to the secret subforum here have even had any news and they're just supposed to stay quiet. Ah whatever ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

infernomachine
problem they may run into is they can delay a release forever and not have to face a class action lawsuit. If they come out and just say its not coming then they potentially have a problem with consumers that purchased the r1 with the advertisement of duma os coming to r1...yikes JOE1305

I used to respond to say "I have no information", people got angry at that so I stopped posting it. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Popular Post AnnonymouS
Its now 77 days. WE DONT TRUST YOU GUYS ANYMORE..... THE WORD IS OUT THERE ....on YouTube and on social media Hi Duma Army, We need to announce that the free upgrade of our new software, DumaOS, for the Netduma R1 will need to be briefly delayed due to unexpected requirement from our Legal Team. Our lawyers have advised that DumaOS on the R1 must be backwards compatible. In other words, if you install DumaOS onto the R1 you should always have the option to reinstall the older R1 firmware if you prefer to go back. We had not designed the DumaOS integration with the R1 to allow for this as DumaOS is superior. But based on legal advice we now must redo the integration to allow for this. It should take, at absolute most, a few more weeks. Nothing more as we have everything else working. We realise you have been waiting patiently for this upgrade and this last-minute delay is frustrating. Our entire development team is working flat out to get this last bit fixed as soon as possible as we really want you all on DumaOS. For what it's worth, we're as frustrated as you are as we can't wait to start making lots of new R-Apps (features) for you all. We will get this last piece done as soon as possible and then it will be full steam ahead in delivering an explosion of new DumaOS features for you all. Thank you for your continued support.
