Fios on demand and Qos not working?

Recommended Posts

With the R1 the only way i could get the fios on demand to work was to enable deep packet processing, this severely hindered my connection but i dealt with it. With the nighthawk as my primary router and my verizon router connected to it i once again get no on demand service, keep getting a not available message. Also when i drop my bandwidth on certain devices and disable the share feature nothing happens. I know my way in and out of the R1 and these seem to be bugs. As of now ive spent $300 to slighly enhance my wifi. I have 30 days to decide whether im keeping this router or not. I hope i can get some help. Its late here in NJ USA, check back later thanks

Hi Stretched - I’m surprised disabling DPI on the R1 would have made a difference - it just analyses packets so it shouldn’t impact FIOS.

For QoS issue - are you using IPv6? If yes, please switch to IPv4

As the video describes, are you direct to the ONT now and using a MoCa bridge?  They usually require some sort of authentication. If your problem persists, I recommend you contact Netgear’s 24/7 live support. They handle the settings side of the router and will have a lot of experience with questions like this. https://www.netgear.com/support/contact.aspx

For the QoS - do you have PPPoE on the Nighthawk? And I assume you have your correct bandwidth speeds entered in Anti-Bufferbloat’s options?

Also, after updating your bandwidth allocations are you clicking ‘Update Distribution’?

I habe the ethernet directly from the ont to the router

Whats your Netgear Ticket number? We have a weekly call with their support team so would be good to have it for that and see whats been done
