Halo 5

Recommended Posts

How come when i load the Geo filter page for Halo 5 i do not see the dedicated servers locations like in cod? Also i don't know if this was covered already but i feel that certain servers i play on such as the Texas server doesn't run as smooth as others. I live in Louisiana and when i search focused i get put on that server most of the time. Is their a time zone for certain servers? Also I was playing late one night ,one of my friends lives in Seattle and the other lives in Cali. I wanted to see if i could get placed on the California  server so i changed my home location to that location, rebooted my game, turned off strict mode and set my PA to 80. He searched on focus and after about 4 attempts we got that server and those games felt amazing.  Then last night  around the same time i tried  to get on the same server by myself and could not after many attempts. Is there a problem with my Geo filter settings? Should i factory reboot to get those servers to appear on the Geo filter or with my Cloud settings. Any advice on how to fix this  would be much appreciated. I also have a picture of the server i was put on.

Thanks,

Jabb

Hi Jabb, welcome to the forum!

Posting a screenshot of what's going on would really help in this instance :) I'd recommend going into Settings > Miscellaneous and making sure Auto Cloud and Bleeding Edge are enabled. This will ensure the Geo-Filter is using the latest version of the cloud.

I'd recommend checking out this short guide to see if these solutions work: http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000022408-why-can-t-i-see-anything-on-the-geo-filter-

Let us know if this works out provide some screenshots if possible :)

Hi Jabb,

To add to Jack's response, here is some extra info

How come when i load the Geo filter page for Halo 5 i do not see the dedicated servers locations like in cod?

Make sure that you have selected the Halo 5 service for your Xbox one at the top of the Geo-Filter. You should then see the servers when you first boot up the game. Once you start searching for a game, the server you are connected to will appear

Also i don't know if this was covered already but i feel that certain servers i play on such as the Texas server doesn't run as smooth as others. I live in Louisiana and when i search focused i get put on that server most of the time. Is their a time zone for certain servers?

That's a question for 343 (the developers), but I would think it's more dependent on the population count or because by searching Focused it thinks that Texas is the best server for you. Maybe try balanced?

Also I was playing late one night ,one of my friends lives in Seattle and the other lives in Cali. I wanted to see if i could get placed on the California  server so i changed my home location to that location, rebooted my game, turned off strict mode and set my PA to 80. No, your settings sound good. The problem is that Halo is the only game we know of that selects the server before seeing if you can actually connect. So the fact you kept getting a different one was bad luck. As you found though, the Geo-filter guaranteed that you did not have to play on the worse server, so you could research.

Should i factory reboot to get those servers to appear on the Geo filter or with my Cloud settings

That shouldn't be necessary.

Hopefully this answers all your questions but let us know if we can help with anything else.
