What ISP are you with? are you sure u have entered your PPPoE credentials correctly?

Also what port are you plugging your modem into the R1?

hi   that post is for static ip mine is not

Right, I had a similar problem to yours where my netduma didnt connect via PPPoE at one point.

What you need to do is reset your hg612/R1 back to factory settings.

Turn on your modem leaving the duma disconnected.

Once the DSL light appears on the modem only then do you connect to the R1 via LAN1 on HG612 and port 1 on the R1.

Login to your router but just a disclaimer your netduma password will reset to default which is 'netdumar1'

Go to the WAN page and enter your credentials for PPPoE

Click apply and wait for a few minutes. This does take a while as the connection is not established straight away. Mine can take up to 5+ minutes at times. So dont be disheartened if it doesnt work right away.

If this still doesnt work then try re-booting your router and waiting again. But dont re-enter your pppoe credetails.

Hopefully this helps. Let us know how you get on.

Hi ok sounds good hg612. I am new to BT OR. hg612 but have loaded the B030SP08 (webgui version) thanks to the work of Asbo and HowlingWolf. Sound .

When you say reset to factory settings As a BT OR we were never meant to have access to the GUI so a rest over connected vdsl would

No doubt search for BT version.install then blocking us out i ? I know I turned of the BT tr-069 management tool which could engage with reset . So what sort of reset there are a good few in there ( I take a look

If I disconnect from vdsl no internet means know GUI.

If I can reset I will try your method

Thank you will post how it went I’ve been at this literally for days. Lucky my VM cable not of yet or I would be stufffed .

New ISP S NO HELP as they want users to use a Janet & John box .

hi i have looked in reset and the reset resets the settings ? for default gateway which may explain why allowed r1 to connect

havent tried yet will today some point

hi looked at hg612 setting for reset and see the default gateway is reset this would help new connection with r1 i would think. http:

affraid not   help    i  see in duma r1 settings that ppoe is optional in r1 i get a pop up box saying

pppoe was added as a convenience however you may not reach full speed using it if you find this to be the case disable ppoe on R1 and enable it on the modem your isp gave you .

i cannot get this to work .   ihave taken of ppoe on r1 and reset   i have a time limit as my other provider will soon be cutting me cable of no web then .

i have a xr500 in march  but thats beside the point .

Hmm, if its unlocked then resetting back to factory settings is not typically ideal. Just re-boot the modem and once the dsl light comes on the modem try connecting the duma and follow the steps i have provided. Fingers crossed it all works out for you mate.

Is your issue resolved after resetting?

Fraser any chance you could move this thraad to general support as it really doesnt belong here. Others on the forum may have a possible fix but due to it being here i doubt they've seen it.

  • Netduma Staff

Think I will purchase static ip and use this http://forum.netduma.com/topic/16054-hg612-and-netduma-no-dmz-required-method/

Setup if it works

Hi Dcm12, I moved this topic to General Support - it'll just get more attention this way :) Please let me know if the steps you're following work out for you.

the hg612 should be plugged in and left, you should not be tinkering around inside the GUI if you do not know what you are doing. You have more than likely triggered a DLM restriction which will take 9 - 11 days to reset to normal providing it is left alone. The hg612 should be left at default config and resetting to default will not erase the firmware even if it is unlocked and by you commenting about that proves that you do not fully know what you are doing. The default config of the hg612 will allow it to work on ALL vdsl connections and you can configure pppoe via the neduma R1 or any other router for that matter.

If I am coming across as being abrupt I do not mean to be.
