Best way to reduce lag on LAN?

Recommended Posts

So I have the XR500, and a gs108 switch.  Currently I have the Xbox One and my PC connected to the switch as well as other stuff. Everything is Gigabit.  When I stream my Xbox to my PC, I occassionally experience lag.  I am thinking there might be a way to isolate these 2 devices from other LAN traffic to increase performance and hopefully eliminate the lag.  Is there a way to do this?

Currently I have my XR500 only using 1 port for my LAN and a Dell6248 behind it for my devices to connect. I also disabled the Wireless on the XR500 because I already had a very good AC WAP setup.

I am debating having my consoles bypass the switch and go directly to the XR500. I am running some other tests to see performance differences but the one game that I have been playing has network issues that, as good as it is, the NetDuma cannot correct.

What is the game that you're playing? For some games where the Geo-Filter cannot help you are at the mercy of their matchmaking systems so all you can do is make sure your local connection is minimal as possible with QoS.
