Got the router today, set it up with the user guide .  Going from the R1 to xr500 I havent seen any difference actually getting destroyed now in WW2 and pubg. Shooting first,Emptying clips, getting insta killed. Oh well I guess I can always go back to the R1.

with the R1 it was much better hit detection, both routers had the same internet speed entered,Both congestion controls set at 70,Auto anti bufferbloat checked.

Just played directly wired from modem to xbox one x,gameplay was alot better, frustrating I spent 300 bucks to have a much worse experience, hopefully its a bug I will go back to the R1 fro now.

Hi Jimmy,

That shouldn't be the case - it should be much better. It maybe due to how you setup QoS on DumaOS. It is slightly counter-intuitive and we have a firmware upgrade to address that issue coming out today or Monday.

Are you available for a 1 on 1 this weekend? We will be happy to assist to make sure you have the optimum experience with the XR500,

I won't be I have to work all this weekend, I really like the look and feel of the OS.. All I did in QOS was to turn on the Antibufferbloat on auto, and set my  xbox one x  on traffic prioritization. both sliders on 70 percent

I have a hard wired 150 mb dl 15 mb UL

One cell phone using minimal bandwith

Hi Jimmy,

When are you next free. Ill make sure either Fraser or myself are available to assist you 1 on 1.

The xr500 will give a better gaming expierence because it has 0 software jitter and at high speeds like yourself it doesn't break a sweat.

So Im sure it will be a simple fix and the firmware drop today or Monday will definitely help : )

Hope this isn't too off topic, I was curious for some early adopters of the R1, if there was going to be any sort of trade in or discounted cost for acquiring the new router HW? I believe someone told me a while back that there maybe a possibility of this. Was curious is all.

Thank you for your time.

Hi.

Netduma have already said that there will be no trade in or discount. The dumaOS will be available on the R1 on april 17thth but as for the Netgear Nighthawk that is purely to do with Netgear and Netduma designed their firmware for that router and Netduma are not responsible for sales or distribution of that router either.

PASTED FROM A POST BY FRASER.................................

Hi all,

I can't respond to you all personally so I will answer the general themes I have seen in the comments. Thank you for all the kinds words and the feedback.

--

Can you exchange the R1 for the XR500 or get a discount towards the XR500?

- Netgear are a separate company so that wouldn't be possible.

Can we put DumaOS on our existing Netgear router?

- No you can't. Unless Netgear decide in future that they want to allow that.

Why April if DumaOS is ready now?

- DumaOS for the R1 has/will have more new and exciting features which therefore takes longer to perfect. As it is slower hardware we also need to do a lot of speed optimisations. As well as doing the Settings section ourselves. The XR500 utilises Netgear settings integrated with DumaOS.

Availability outside the US?

- That is a question for Netgear but I'm sure they will branch out of the US soon.

How fast will updates come out/will there be new features?

- The R1 will have faster updates and new features in the long run.

The price is too high.

- We don't have any influence on how Netgear calculate the final retail price.

Does the XR500 have the Anti-Jitter/Anti-Spike feature?

- No, that is on our R1 roadmap.

Just got my XR500, sucks it feels like cheap plastic, it weighs as much as the R1. buffer-bloat is very bad this is no Nighthawk guys

Nothing in this is like the Netduma. Very bad Im returning this today . So disappointing to wait all this time for this. Going back to my R1

What do you mean buffer bloat is very bad? What issues are you having with the firmware? There has been a new update gone out today. I would highly recommend upgrading to that as it's much better. Very happy to conduct a 1 on 1 with you to help with your issues, I'll PM you.

Annon please dm us. Im not sure why you'd say that this has the most powerful consumer chip. It is even more powerful than the R9000. Full blown hardware acceleration with DumaOS features provides best connection possible.

I suspect you may have misunderstood how auto-qos works. Please upgrade as it fixes these usability issues. If you dont see the upgrade immediately fm me and I'll send it to you privately.

If you'd like a 1 on 1 from me I'm available most of today. I'm on PST timezone.
