As someone who just bought the NETDUMA a few weeks ago i am extremely upset about this announcement and feel like im getting cheated. The wifi on the duma is bad And doesnt even support 5g. Only reason i went with the duma over the nighthawk was for the geofilter. If i knew this combo was coming out i would have waited.

Will there be a chance to exchange for the new nighthawk running dumaOs? Really unfair for people who just bought the netduma within that last month. This should have been announced around the holidays.

Also I'm pretty sure the R1 will get the most features and updates the fastest because Netgear will have ultimate control over their version of DumaOS. So the R1 is still the best solution with another router as an access point for 5ghz wifi

I don't think so since it uses brand new hardware they just announced.

My point is i dont want to buy another router for 5ghz. the new nighthawk will Have good wifi and dumaos. There is no reason to have the netduma now. Nighthawk with dumaos >>>

Hi guys. On a business perspective and a way to make the DumaOS a go-to operating system for routers on a wider scale, I clearly understand the move. Which should be better for all in the long run.

On the other hand, I am here to ask about how will the updates on the other routers be like? Will they have back-to-back updates along with the R1 router or will it be slower on for the other routers due to maybe having to be vetted by Netgear's software engineering team?

In your point of view, if it is not under any NDA/contract, which router platform hosts a more feature packed DumaOS in a software perspective since clearly for hardware, the Netgear one obviously wins hands down. So in terms of features inside the DumaOS, which router has more?

As an r1 user I am frustrated to know that the DumaOS is available TODAY on different hardware but that we have to wait until April.

That said from a business perspective I completely understand why you went this route, I really do. Congrats to you guys, you've earned it.

This is very understandable, the move Netduma took with partnership with Netgear, will just help Netduma grow even more, with netgears future routers with DUMAOS will just get better, just slightly a disappointment the routerboard Netduma R1 owners have to wait till April 18, but sense Netgear now has their hands full with DumaOS they also have the say with the Netduma team, but all for it just still a little disappointed with the April official release.

New hardware?.........well I didnt see this coming did I?........LOL

I aint impressed at the wait for the new OS, far from it. WE, who are loyal netduma users, some of us are very early apopters and purchasers SHOULD get the OS first. HOWEVER, I have a feeling this may be down to Netgears t's & c's but it still sucks..........So the almost utter silence was probably part of an N.D.A.

On a positive note, netgear software is total and utter wank so the dumaOS is gonna be night and day improvement.

Congratulations to netduma on partnering and growing your business and I wish you every success in the future.

Hello Duma Army!!

It's great news to read this but I have some doubts.

1: because the users of R1 have to wait until April?

I think they should give an explanation on this, since it is very unfair for the users of R1 that we have been with you so long and        so long waiting for the new update.

2: Seriously $ 300 for a new router ?.

I have been observing the prices of the new Netgear router and the truth is that I think the price is quite excessive.

And at $ 200 it was a pretty high price for the R1 but it was completely worth it, but paying $ 300 for a new router is worth it?

How much better is the new router so there is $ 100 difference with the R1 ?.

3: Is there any difference between the operating system Duma os what will be in the Netgear with the one that comes out for the            R1?

As I said I am very happy to read this post but at the same time frustrated and disillusioned by having to wait until April to enjoy the new system for the R1.

first of all and how not to thank Ian and the rest of the Duma team for the great work and the great work they do both to get new updates and to attend all the consultations of the forum and social networks

a big greeting and just wait ... now yeah hehehe.

P.D:I hope you understand my post well since my English is not native and I have to use a translator. Thank you!

Reading through these comment's and I have to wonder about the intelligence of some gamer's out there. Netgear will have forced their hand to not release the R1 version at the same time as the Netgear version so it does not affect Netgears sales that is obvious. "Should we please some of our early adopters by not partnering with Netgear and give them it first and loose a big deal that will make the company grow, oh go on then". GTFO.

Congratulations Netduma.
