iMac interference

Recommended Posts

If it's backing up to iCloud, that causes me problems. Everytime a phone in my house does an upload to icloud the network gets over-run probably because it's maxing my adsl upload. Everything stops working. Check your network monitor whilst its happening to see if the imac has traffic coming from/to it. Also if you just mean general interference and your controller is wireless and uses bluetooth like the ps4...if my mac is near the ps4 it can interfere with my controller due to bluetooth and wifi operating on similar frequencies and it was incredibly frustrating until I figured it out.

Would my computer give my gaming lag if it’s just on with no wifi enabled? I’m been having better experience with my iMac off.

If you have WiFi disabled on your Mac then it won’t cause lag as it’s not connected to the internet, unless you have it connected to the router via Ethernet of course.

This is something I never thought about.I run my Mac (laptop) with my duma and it's always wireless, never thought it make much difference...wired or wireless as I'm not doing any testing, which are always done wired.

So I'm guessing that maybe I should try running it wired (and turn the WiFi off) as I do need to use it together with my duma.

Sound right ?

Sounds right Fuzzy. Definitely worth a shot mate. I don’t have a Mac but I know that if I charge my iPhone it automatically start a WiFi backup to iTunes and although the Duma keeps the ping stable I notice a huge difference in hit detection in game so I either don’t charge my phone while gaming or I turn off the phones WiFi. I wondered if the Mac may do something similar with WiFi when @kizvandutch mentioned it.

I'm gonna give it a try today and see if I notice a difference with hit detection while running my laptop wired with the WiFi turned off
