Vdsl faceplates

I bought a vdsl face plate over a 18 months ago as zennon recommended i did a open reach mk3

Since then i have moved house my line has now a vdsl faceplate

It is a openreach mk4

My previous one is a openreack mk3

Do you guys think my oldrr version i bought might perform better

At the moment i a noticing ping spike from 10 to 30 ms every ten to 15 secs on the line

 

Btw i cant use ping ploter to check for packet loss my pc isnt working atm

Also the mk4 the engeniner installed was brand new

Plus i been living hear over a year so lncase any thinks its a new line

That could be caused by a CPU / Firmware issue in a new modem/router you have?

 

Of course yes you could try the MK3 to rule out the MK4 causing issues.

 

Turn off your Modem for over 20 minutes when you do so the DLM see's it as a power down and not a line drop error.

I am using the huawei hg612 modem you recommended  a few years ago along with netdumar

I will turn off the modem for over 20 mins thanks again for everyones help

I just tried changing the face plate . but i couldnt

The mk3 i bought wont fit on my older master socket that has a mk4 attached to it

The master socket says on it     master socket 5c

Anybody know what im doing wrong

The fittings on the mk3 wont go on the master socket

Ah school boy error by me, the back plate is different so it will not fit,I should have mentioned sorry.

 

You would have to fit both the back and front for the MKIII.
