WW2 + New ISP settings

Hi,

I recently moved from the east coast where I had a 100mb DL/100mb UL steady connection to Hawaii where I have 300mb DL/ 25mb UL.

I'm confused as far as what the best settings are for my bandwith are, so far the only changes I've made were updating my bandwith and switching to a preemptive algorithm and it seems to give me the best results when I run the ping diagnostics (was consistently getting "bad" or "terrible" spikes and jitter)

Is there any other setting I should change? Would reactive be a better option? Thanks!

Update: To add to my confusion, it seems that disabling my Geo filter is what improves my results drastically and gives me exceptional results consistently for jitter and spikes with no packet loss. So.... preemptive or Reactive???

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

As far as the Reactive/Preemptive algorithm, it is down to whichever gives you the best results.

Given your speeds have you got super turbo ticked in miscellaneous setting, and your console in hyper traffic.

There are no universal settings for everyone, as we all have different ISP's etc etc so it's a matter of getting settings that work for you

Hi, welcome to the forum! It could be that the Geo-filter is causing you to not have an open NAT - try only enabling the Geo-filter once you have booted up your console. I would recommend reactive algorithm on your speeds, as well as turbo mode and hyper traffic as Macca said above. You're right on the edge of requiring super turbo mode, so if you get better results using super turbo mode then feel free to use it.

A better understanding of your connection would come from running a Pingplotter test. If you ran one of those tests for half an hour (pinging a site like Twitter.com) you'd be able to see exactly where the ping issue originates from. It's unlikely for the Geo-filter to cause such issues, especially with the Internet Diagnostics results - what are your Geo-filter settings, and on which device are you running the Internet Diagnostics from?
