PS4 NAT type Failed

Hi to all, 

 

I'm facing a problem with my PS4 Pro. It was working perfectly, but recently, I've faced a problem with my nat type which indicate "failed" with error no. "NW-31374-8". My Netduma R1 is behind another router, and I put the Netduma on DMZ mode. In addition, I have Xbox one and it works perfectly with nat type open. here are my attempts to solve the problem:

1- I connect my PS4 on static IP and google DNS.

2- I made port forward on Netduma and on the main router and on the main router itself only.

3- I resetted my router and my ps4 

4- I updated the ps4 to the latest OS version 

 

I've tried all the methods available, but no update for this nat to be solved

If you remove the port forwarding rules and use UPnP, also ticking UPnP in Miscellaneous settings, do you still get a failed NAT? Try disabling the Geo-filter until the console is fully booted up. Even with the Geo-filter disabled, do you still receive a failed NAT?

I've done all of these many times without any positive result 

 

It's worth double checking that every single port is forwarded for your game and for your console before attempting anything else. You should only be port forwarding on your Netduma, not your Modem. Try turning off your Modem and your Netduma. Wait for a minute before switching on your Modem. Then, wait another minute and switch on your Netduma. (Make sure cookies is enabled before doing this step). Make sure Auto Cloud and Bleeding Edge are applied in the Netduma Miscellaneous settings.

 

When you are first booting up the console, do you see anything being blocked on the map? If so, add that blocked host to your allow list and please post the ID here.

I've just connected my ps4 pro to my ISP router and still suffering from nat type failed while Xbox nat type is open. 

 

In that case, something is wrong with your modem. Have you tried different ports / ethernet wires?

I've tested bothe; wireless and wired 

My ISP router is ASUS 4G-AC55U, it works perfectly with xbox but suddenly the PS4 failed to get nat type

If your Xbox shows open then that means there is nothing wrong with your settings. I would hard turn off the console/unplug it. I think there is an option on the console to rebuild the database or something similar? Do that and try again.

I've recently formatted my Ps4 Pro but nothing happened. So, how can I rebuild the database.

I tested the option of rebuild database, and it didn't solve the problem too.

I'm now frustrated of this problem. I've tried all solutions and got only nothing

As frustrating as it is, this issue has nothing to do with the Netduma - you proved that this is the case by connecting it directly to the ISP hub and finding that the issue was still there. Since the Xbox has an open NAT and the PS4 doesn't, this indicates that this could be an issue with the console itself rather than the ISP hub. It could also be the Ethernet wire from the PS4 to the router.

 

The only options available on the Netduma are to set up port forwarding or enable UPnP for the PS4, though you've already tried these steps. Otherwise, I would recommend hard-resetting everything. Unplug the Netduma and the ISP hub. Wait for a few minutes before plugging in the ISP hub. Then, wait another few minutes before plugging in the Netduma.

Have you tried giving your PS4 an automatic IP and clearing all port forwarding rules on your ISP modem, doing a hard reset, and then enabling UPnP on your Netduma?

I know that I you got frustrated from me, but all of these I've tried many times.

 

I'm not frustrated mate, I just want to see if I can help you to solve the issue :)

 

I found a guide online that may help. You may have already tried it, so apologies if you have - but it's worth suggesting anyway. Try this:

 

1: Manually enter your router settings into PS4. You will find this information on the bottom of your router. You can even log onto a Windows PC which is connected to that router.
 
2:On your PC/laptop, click on Windows>Search, type “run” and click on it. Now press “cmd” and then press “Enter”. This will open up a command prompt screen. Now type “ipconfig/all” without any spaces and press enter again.
 
3: Now, locate Ethernet or wireless LAN adapter. Note the IP address, the default gateway, the subnet mask and the DNS servers.
 
4: Go to Network Settings and set up a network.
 
5: Go to wireless or wired (do not press auto) and type in the above-found details.
