#inet1 Can't connect to the wifi - Brand new NETDUMA

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

I just received my Netduma today from Amazon.

I followed all the steps in the quick start guide.

I plugged my Hitron router from my ISP to the port 1.

I plugged my PS4 to the port 2.

On my Macbook Pro, when i'm searching for the wifi "Netduma R1" NOTHING.

Same with any of my other devices, so i just can't access to the dashboard.

Moreover, i have no Ethernet plug on my laptop so how can i do except buying an adaptator ?

Also, the Netduma wifi led is always blinking.

Please help :)

David

Thank you for you answer.

I just tried and still nothing.

Does the wifi led on the netduma should always blink ?

The Wi-Fi light blinking indicates a software issue - it's likely that the Netduma software has not downloaded correctly onto the router. Unfortunately the only way to remedy this is to get a replacement which we can sort out for you. This is a very rare issue, so the replacement Netduma we send you will function correctly.

If you drop us an email at [email protected] with your Netduma order number and a link to this thread, we'll send you instructions and get a replacement router sent out to you :)

Thank you for answering.

I actually bought it on Amazon and will full fill all the informations to return that product.

I can't believe that almost a $300 router would already be broken before having yet being switched on.

I'm really sorry that this has happened to you - this is a very rare issue caused by the software not properly installing onto the router. Please let us know when you receive your replacement router and we'll support you as best we can.

Hey there,

A little update about my situation.

So i just received my replacement NETDUMA, and the set up has been like seamless :) The wifi has been directly detected, and my PS4 as well.

Now i have another issue, while i was doing the tour guide, i realise that the software is locating me in Vancouver whereas i live on the totally opposite side i.e Toronto.

How can i change that ?

Obviously, Netduma and i is a real complicated relationship for now...

Actually i found the solution on the forum, i had to tick "strict mode" box and change my location on the map.

However, my question is, is it possible to ask to the software to accuratly locate you ( the map is small even zoomed in)

Thanks for everything.

I'm really glad your replacement has gone smoothly, again I'm sorry that had to happen to you but I hope it hasn't impacted your enjoyment of the Netduma.

There's no way to ask the Netduma to locate you - the reason for this is because we do not want to impact your privacy by having access to our customers exact location, nor do we want the router to learn this information in case of any security breaches. It's very unlikely that having your home location on the exact point where your home is will impact your gameplay however - there are many Netduma users who move their home pin around depending on where the servers are located on the map.

Please let us know if you have any more questions, or if I could be of any assistance with setting up your Netduma :)

Hey there,

Thanks again for all the help.

I hopped on a few games and omg it's night and day, winning almost all my gunfights, i can't believe i played without it before.

Anyhow, i do have some others questions.

I ran a ping test since it's been 4 games in raw i'm disconnected from the server whereas my friends in the game with me aren't.

See the result down below :

PING : Good

JITTER : Bad

SPIKES : Terrible

PACKET LOSS : No Loss

I think i need to make some tweaks but i'm totally new to it.

Thanks again !

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Sorry to hear about your issue and glad to hear you've got a working Duma now. Do keep in mind at the moment that if you're play WW2 that Activision have taken the servers offline because they're experiencing issues.

The Internet Diagnostic results you got can sometimes be due to the Google server misbehaving. If not then it can indicate an issue with your internet line. To be certain I would suggest using a program called PingPlotter to confirm this.

Hey there,

I have another issue, since i plugged my Netduma, my NAT is now Moderate, whereas with my router, i forwarded the port and it worked just fine.

I tried all the tuto that are on your website and nothing works, still moderate.

I have no issues finding games, but always at the end of the game, i'm disconnected from the server, which sucks when you just finished a flawless game.

Is there anyway someone from the support could take control of my Netduma and apply the correct settings ?

Thanks !

  • Hard turn off the console
  • Disable Geo-filter on Duma
  • Hub in modem mode or R1 WAN IP from device manager into the DMZ on hub
  • UPnP & port forwarding disabled on the hub
  • UPnP OR port forwarding enabled on the Duma, not both
  • UPnP forwarding disabled in Duma miscellaneous settings
  • Boot up console - check network settings - should be open or NAT Type 2 (open)
  • Boot up game - should be open

Thank for answering.

First of all i forgot to mention my set up :

Internet >Roger Hitron Router>Netduma>PS4

When i'm in my Hitron router, enable the DMZ and entered the IP adress that is written under the blue box on the device manage in the netduma.

I saved the changes in my Hitron and yet there is still this blue box on the netduma device manager.

When i go back my Hitron DMZ i click on "connected devices" he sees the netduma and it's written "inactive"
