Im on ps4 with a 7ms ping to south coast uk server and until recently hit detection was miserable, i have spent a good few days playing with the sliders till my dsl reports results bars were all below the 10ms level (no yellow or red background above the bars) so its not just about getting an A+ bb rating, i can get a A+ with dslreports ping variation going up to 80ms, you want the red lines (ping variations) to be as small as possible for your line hth.

IMO, its definitely the servers. They're absolutely trash, it played well while the game was out but now for some reason it just seems slow and sluggish to me. Sometimes i dont even get a chance to react to the gunfight with quickdraw and fasthands and once im dead I can see that i just got owned by a 0.8kd player with hardly any attachments on his gun. Its become really frustrating recently, this game used to be so enjoyable but now as soon as i hop on i regret it. Every now and again itll feel good, maybe they re freshed the servers or changed them up, but for the majority of the time its totally shit. And also not to add the countless amount of players who consistently lag across my screen making it impossible to get a straight shot on target. I dont know but im really not feeling cod in general anymore. Ive changed settings numerous amount of times on the netduma and i have a really stable line with hardly any jitter but the results are always the same, shoot first, get hit markers and then instantly just die. Its like u dont even flinch, just insta death.

Instadeath's and Rubber banding... YES!! Totally ruined my COD experience. All the jet packing makes it that much worse because not only are they rubber banding on the ground, they're teleporting around in the air and killing with 1-2 bullets while you put a full clip in them that are perfectly on point and nothing registers. #RageQuit

This is game after game using Netduma with geo out in the ocean and ping assists at 15ms.

This is without congestion control

and this is with congestion control with minimal buffering and ping variation

if your base ping is 20ms then it should look like this but up to the 20ms indicator.

Notice that they are both A+ but there is a huge difference in hit detection between the two.

With my connection it was the dowload which i had to adjust the most, what you want is the best consistant result on dsl reports, i used to do the one test, find it was low, then go into games with terrible hit reg, went back to check my bb and the buffering/ping variation went sky high, what you could do,  rather then repeat dsl reports over and over, is test it on the fly, in game till your game feels responsive with a crisp hit detection.

@Roy - I get 7ms to the UK server too; with BT Infinity it doesn't fluctuate more than 0.5ms at most, and the last two CoDs still play awfully most of the time lol. No time to react because of discrepancies, audibly delayed hit reg and so on...

Every now and then I find a game that runs flawlessly and it's still a flat 7ms as always so I don't understand the inconsistency. There are people out there on jittery cable, plugging and playing with a congested line and 40ms to their local server and they're unkillable lmao
