Do i need to use vlan tag when using pppoe ?

I was told to put 101 but when i do that i have no connection but if i disable vlan tag my intert works

 If you've input your PPPoE username and password on the WAN settings page, you should be able to use Vlan. Try rebooting the modem and the router after setting it up.

 

That being said, if you have Internet access without using Vlan, it shouldn't be 100% necessary to use it. It's quite a specific function, so if you don't know if you need it or not, the likelihood is you won't need it.
