Destiny 2

Recommended Posts

here is the thing i love the duma only bought it for destiny, got a few friends to buy it for destiny as well. So in destiny 2 trials we used geo location to sync both our duma's to pair up with each other it worked really well for trials. But with destiny 2 cloud servers we could not connect to each other. we white listed all people that we were connected to everything that worked for destiny 1. Now are you guys gonna be able to fix this for destiny 2. like I said destiny is the only reason me and my friends bought the duma. We like playing stress free in trials so this is important to use because this is the only game we play, also we are switching to Pc so will work on pc as on ps4 once you guys update the cloud thing. I understand you have lots of messages but if you can let me know whats going on it would be awesome because there is nothing on the forms here about peer 2 peer connecting with the duma for trials. And really I know allot of people that only use the duma for that reason please give us some insite brother, be blessed!!!

Sounds like cheating to me. It's not hard to go flawless in D2

The Geo-filter wasn't designed to help you to just play against your friends and circumvent matchmaking. It's not something we can change, if it doesn't work then nothing we can do. Yes it will work on PC. Cloud will be an ongoing thing and will hopefully get booted less and less.

Does this help you?

And this one:

Quite possibly thank you, I am very hesitant about whitelisted such broad IP ranges so I probably won't.

I've found some informations here for both screenshots: https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/6o870x/can_we_get_the_destiny_2_server_ips_please/

It's very difficult to find specific IP ranges for Destiny 2 that's why i prefer to give you all informations i've found.

You can see some examples to compare in my last topic: http://forum.netduma.com/topic/21665-destiny-2-beta/page-2?hl=destiny

That last post may be my last contribution of ids for awhile. I am not enjoying D2 at all, and IB may be the last straw.

If anybody has any suggestions for a good ps4 pvp game that a solo player can enjoy, and be competitive at, please let me know.

I solo Destiny and enjoy it, particularly Iron Banner from the first game. Yeah, the 4-stacks in D2 can suck and it is repetitive, but you take the good with the bad. It's all about the weapons baby and the meta is strong in this one.

As for other games, Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 is a very enjoyable and casual shooter that can easily be soloed. I'm not being a dick, it's a really fun game.

For more competitive stuff...CoD, Battlefield, RS6, Overwatch...you're gonna have similar problems to D2 going solo.

The Division is surprisingly good for single-player, but IMHO the PvP gunplay is bad. Great atmosphere though, the Dark Zone is really tense.

Maybe Fortnite, that seems to be getting good press of late.

If you like Destiny, try Warframe for a more hardcore, grindy experience set in a similar universe.

I disagree with the weapons. everyone thinks mida is OP but you can compete with almost anything. it's all about map placement and teamwork. I've only been flawless 4 times in D2, so I'm no pvp god but can obviously hold my own.

I agree D2 is boring as hell, I've been playing Fortnite battle royale and having a ball. It's free and I highly recommend it.

Of course map knowledge and teamwork are paramount, but he's playing solo, so they're irrelevant when you can be bum-rushed anywhere on the map by two guys coordinating via chat.

Teamwork can open up the whole arsenal roster by virtue of dominating a less coordinated opposition, but for most people in most scenarios, weapons matter in Destiny 2 due to range, recoil, flinch and fire rate, especially when soloing.

MIDA's popular for mid to long range engagements where little else can compete except other Scout rifles, few of which are viable. MIDA's the smartest choice because of the powerful combo of ADS radar, flinch-inducing High Calibre Rounds, perfect aim assist rating and damage archetype.

For mid-range, Assault Rifles like Uriel's Gift are dominant due to their insane range, flinch, low recoil and solid fire rate and damage.

For close-range, your options are The Last Hope sidearm for really low TTK and recoil, or the Antiope-D SMG again for the huge range, accuracy, flinch and fire-rate.

Yes you can compete with other gear (I don't like MIDA and use a Vigilance Wing for a faster TTK at mid to long) and there are similar weapons within the same archetype but the stats aren't up to par. If you don't have this handful of weapons, you're at a disadvantage in most engagements based largely on the immutable game mechanics of range, fire-rate, flinch and recoil.

You'll rarely see any of the top guys with anything else and you'll die to same weapons over and over and over again. Ergo, the meta is strong in this one and weapons do matter. Get the same weapons to improve your D2 experience or suffer without them.

And yeah, Battle Royale in Fortnite is gaining momentum. Last time I checked it wasn't free on console, but is on PC.

I've avoided using the Netduma host filtering for Destiny 2 assuming it wouldn't work, what with all the disconnection complaints since release, but fired it up the last 2 nights for some IB and quick play matches and it worked beautifully. Not sure if it makes a difference that I'm in Aus or not, but it was great to see only local connections showing up. Haven't played much lately though, unfortunately just not enjoying it like I did D1.

Battle Royale in Fortnite is definitely free; was playing it in a squad with a few mates last night. Great fun.

Thanks for the confirmation Matty. I downloaded Fortnite at launch and it was locked behind a paywall. I'll try again!

Bungie fixed a lot of stuff in D2 in terms of the grind, but they screwed the pooch by taking the random rolls out of gear drops. I understand it from a balance perspective, but there's no incentive to continue playing for those ever-elusive god rolls.

Ironically, Iron Banner used to be far less grindy with known rewards, now it's RNG and less enjoyable.

I also don't like the oversimplification of D2 at large, but it does make it more accessible for my 7 y/o son. From that perspective, I'll happily play, but I don't feel the same desire to put in thousands of hours like I did in Destiny.

It's pretty evident most of the core Destiny players feel the same - Destiny was a top 10 game on Twitch for 3 years. Destiny 2 is out of the top 20 within a month. Bungie is damned if they do and damned if they don't - I suspect we'll see improvements in the expansion packs.

And yeah, the Duma is great for controlling D2 lobbies :)
