These are two I am aware of .  If you ask 10 different people you probably with get 10 different answers on which dns servers to use but for me I use OpenDNS on my Xbox exclusively and on my Router I use Google DNS.  This seems to work best for me. But I would never use my ISP's DNS - not very dependable.

Glad you listed those, I am on Mac and wasn't sure if name bench was legit or not. It did indicate by current DNS is the fastest. Would you still suggest that it is not dependable? I am on comcast for whatever that might be worth.

I think google and than open were next fastest.

Google is the ONLY dns provider that really has the network to handle fast requests besides your ISP. Comcast's DNS does have some issues, but it's usually the fastest for me. I wouldn't trust Google, but that's just me.

If you want, try out these:

209.222.18.222

209.222.18.218

Just curious if anyone changes their DNS in their duma. If you do, how did you determine best and fastest DNS and is there a tool that you used for that. Also, what kind if difference in performance did you see if you did this?

Your ISP's dns always going to be the fastest unless they are not reliable then maybe you might want to change them to the next fastest thing available.
