Hello, welcome to the forum!

I wouldn't advise using a VPN for gaming unless absolutely necessary as it will add latency. Please try the following config, do a factory reset before you try it.

client

auth-user-pass

remote lax-a49.ipvanish.com 443
proto udp

dev tun
nobind
persist-key
persist-tun
verb 3
tls-cipher TLS-DHE-RSA-WITH-AES-256-CBC-SHA:TLS-DHE-DSS-WITH-AES-256-CBC-SHA:TLS-RSA-WITH-AES-256-CBC-SHA

Did you do a factory reset before trying the new config? What did it say below the connect/apply button? Disconnected, failed to communicate?

Hi Norman - really sorry that we didn't get back to you! Fraser just went on vacation so apologies for that.

Try taking a look at this brief guide: http://support.netdu...mmon-vpn-errors

In summary you could be connecting to a server that's currently down or out of service. Some users found joy in switching VPN provider though I know that's not ideal.

I found a forum thread where someone had the same issue using IP Vanish and managed to solve it. Try checking it out: http://forum.netduma...te-with-router/

Copying your error log here would be useful to look at - if you saw similarities between the one on that forum thread and your own, I would recommend trying the solution there. Please let us know how that goes :)

That's great, really happy that worked out. Using a VPN is essentially what he's done, he's just enabled it on his PC as well. VPN's essentially route your connection through the VPN server, which will make your IP address the same as that VPN server. So long as you are using IPvanish and have it enabled on your PC, you won't be able to be DDoS attacked since your IP will appear completely different.

The VPN Hybrid allows you to add exceptions, which you'll probably want to do. If you enable your PC I'd add the exception of web traffic, which will stop Internet services from running through the VPN server.
