Wifi module failing?

Recommended Posts

I've had the netduma for over a year now. Recently I've noticed the wifi connection frequently dropping and restarting. Anything hard wired continues to work so I know it's not my isp/modem. I'm in the newest firmware and haven't had to do any updates.

If I go unplug and restart the modem it always fixes the issue but it's temporary because after an hour or two it will drop again.

Like I said it's only the wifi connection. I don't have any interference and I've searched through about every related forum I could find and no solution. I've had other routers fail on me before, specifically xfinitys modem/router combos. The wifi module would fail on theirs and I'd have to get a replacement about every year.

I'm pretty sure the wifi module in the router is also dying. Anyone else having this issue?

Ironically while trying to post that original post the wifi module went out again and I had to disconnect from wifi and use my cell data to be able to post that. But my Xbox and computer that are hard wired are working fine all other devices connected over wifi drop their signal. I've tried different channels etc and nothing.

I am actually experiencing the same issue. Wired connections continue to work while the wifi goes down. A factory reset/reboot usually solves it temporarily.

Disable the wifi on the R1 and try using a spare router as an AP while they sort it out in the the new firmware.

I just checked. My brother actually bought it for me so I didn't know the exact date it was purchased but He bought it in November last year so it's not even 10 months old yet and have been seeing this issue for about a month now. Never saw this problem before and it keeps getting progressively worse.

If that is the case please email [email protected] with the order number/order email. If it is within a year then we can replace it. Include a link to this topic as well please.
