Tripod Posted August 23, 2017 Share Posted August 23, 2017 Just wondering what might be the cause of this but over the last week I have noticed parts of the UI/Router page taking a long time to load. The main culprit is congestion control, everything else is a bit slower but good enough. For some reason though I'm finding myself waiting upto 10 minutes for congestion control to display in full, in fact I don't think it's loaded quicker than 5 minutes in about 20 attempts recently, that's via my PC and mobile. I've rebooted the Netduma, power cycled both the Netduma and my modem, checked many times that our Internet is fine, which it has been. I'm also on the latest firmware. Any reason for this sudden epic slowdown in the menu, any idea what I could do to remedy this? Cheers. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Tripod Posted August 23, 2017 Author Share Posted August 23, 2017 I spoke too soon it's gone back to being obnoxiously slow, I'm not even gaming on console, it's turned off, I was just attempting to play around with settings in Congestion Control and dsl reports to see how my bufferbloat stacks up. Does anyone think putting the duma in the dmz, rather than currently having the isp hub in bridge might fix the issue? From what I've seen in that article it's got something to do with port forwarding and hyper traffic, I'm guessing there would be no need for port forwarding in the dmz. Or have I read it wrong? Did you give the PC you're accessing it with an excessively low amount of bandwidth? (especially if share excess was off) You still need to port forward or utilise UPnP on the R1. Bridge or DMZ means you should remove all UPnP/port forwarding from the hub and ensure ALL devices are connected to the R1 - then there should be no conflicts. One question, I did read a guide here that recommended share excess always on, as someone who lives in a house with a few others and many devices(9), with Australian internet that's only @ 20 down 1 up, when gaming on console would it be benficial at all to say give the PS4 Pro 80% etc and turn share excess off? Sorry that I'm getting a little off track but I know Destiny for example advocates minimum 1 up which I can't achieve anyway with the recommended 70/70 bandwith limit as is. I guess some of the guides are written with the majority of the world in mind that achieve much better speeds. I do understand that reducing the bandwidth does provide much better buffer bloat results, just curious about disabling the share excess when gaming, and having the console get the lions share, if that would help?
